"You will not find a better location for the ruins."
We chose this hotel for its proximity to the excavations and cold not have done better. It is literally "across the street" from the main entrance and the free parking, at a large guarded car park is a real bonus in a busy city.
The hotel staff could not have been more helpful and friendly - we arrived at 12, knowing we could not check in until 2, but they directed us to the car park and allowed us to store our bags in a secure room in the hotel reception.
The real treat, however, was to discover that, upon our return from a long afternoon in very hot sunshine at the excavations, they had very kindly upgraded us to a VERY superior suite - utter luxury with 2 bathrooms, a Jucuzzi Hammam and pristine, state of the art furnishings and decoration.
So all in all a BIG thumbs up to the Hotal Forum- you can't do better in Pompeii
The hotel is in a quiet cul de sac near the tourist attractions in Pompei. It is just 5 minutes walk from the Pompei Sanctuary, probably the number 1 tourist attraction in Pompei - well worth a visit. It is also only 10 minutes walk from the Pompei archeological ruins. The hotel is very clean and comfortable and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. We spent 3 days at the hotel in September 2014 and had a wonderful time there. There is a nice garden in which you can relax and have a drink, the rooms are comfortable with airconditioning that you can control and the WiFi speed is reasonable. It is a small, family run hotel so it does not have things like a fitness room or swimming pool but apart from that it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Breakfast is modest continental fare. There are good restaurants nearby and a Michelin star restaurant is just round the corner. All in all, an excellent hotel at a reasonable price.

I will recommend hotel Amleto to the tourist. This hotel located downtown of Pompei, next to the Piazza di Santuario. This hotel is surrounded by restaurants, bars and shops. Just 5 min walk to the Pompei ruins. Easy access from highway. This hotel has its own garage and lots of parking around.
The hotel is located in beautiful ancient barocco style building. The hotel is very well maintained. Rooms are of medium size with comfortable beds and new mattresses, flat screen tv, mini fridge with water are also a plus.
Very good Wi-Fi connection is available in the rooms without additional charge. Breakfast is ok - with fruits and choices of cold cuts and cheese. Great cappuccino and morning brioche. This is a family hotel. The owners of this hotel, as well as their staff are very nice people. If you like Italian charm - hotel Amleto is right for you!

This hotel is excellent value for money. It's not the most luxurious 4-star hotel I have stayed in, but then it's far more reasonably priced than most 4-star hotels. The room was simply furnished, and the shower wasn't the most modern, but everything worked fine and I had a large roof terrace with views towards the sea on one side and Vesuvius on the other. The public facilities are limited and I can imagine it might get rather crowded around the swimming pool in the holiday season, but it's all very pleasant, and I enjoyed eating my breakfast on the dining room terrace. I found all the staff extremely welcoming and helpful. Dinner is expensive - there is no set menu, it's all a-la-carte, everything from starter to main course costing 10-12 euros - but it is very good indeed and in fact you can eat very well for 25 euros. To my taste, the cuisine in the evening is far more creative and enjoyable than in many hotels costing a lot more: some lovely fish dishes and plenty of locally-grown vegetables. The hotel is 15-20 minutes walk from the Circumvesuviana station (downhill going, uphill coming back), and that could be an issue if you have mobility problems. Torre del Greco town is a bit rough and no longer sees itself as a tourist town, but if you are visiting historic sites in the Bay of Naples, it can't be bettered as a base. Herculaneum is just two stops away on the Circumvesuviana, and Pompeii about five stops.
This place was so awesome. Totally decorated like Versailles, with amazing furniture, frescoes, etc. Room was large, with a balcony, big bathroom.
Breakfast was big and delicious. They even made an attempt at bacon.
But the pool area is the most amazing. Statues, fountains, canopies, and outdoor seating. It looks like it'd make an awesome wedding venue.
And, the price is so low. I couldn't believe how cool this place was especially given how much we paid for it.
