"This property and location are amazing! My family loved it, and we will definitely be back. For those who like all the details, the décor is a little dated, and some areas of the rooms show wear and tear from the years. Our bathroom pocket door did not close all the way, and the bathroom itself was just average. None of that bothered us, though. The beds were comfortable, and the sheets and towels were very clean, which is what matters most to us. The balcony is a must-have, and the harbor view was spectacular. The Reef Bar is older and has a musty smell, likely from years of being right on the harbor, which is probably unavoidable. That said, the staff was amazing, and the food was excellent. My teenage girls loved the hand-battered chicken tenders, homemade chips, and ranch. The pizza was also very good—top-notch bar food. The complimentary coffee machine was delicious, honestly better than Starbucks. We also loved the free s’mores kits available at the front desk. Just ask, and they’ll provide everything you need. Staff will even light the beautiful harbor-side fire pits. The water taxi was a fun adventure to historic downtown. We highly recommend Ruby’s for brunch, it looks closed from the outside, but it isn’t! The pool was our favorite part of the property, with great chairs, a tiki bar, and beautiful views. For dinner, Shem Creek is only minutes away and offers even more stunning waterfront scenery. Overall, if a little cosmetic issues dont bother you, its amazing"

"It was everything I hoped for. We never used the car service but had to pay 40.00 a day to park. That was my only complaint. Very high end and I loved it."

"We stayed at this hotel from Wednesday through Saturday and unfortunately experienced several issues that made our stay disappointing. On Friday, our room lost water service for a period of time. When the water returned, it only came back to the shower and not the sink. There were also black flecks coming out of the shower water that collected on the tub floor, which raised concerns about water quality and cleanliness. That same day, we returned to our room around noon to find the smoke alarm beeping. Maintenance responded promptly and replaced the unit, explaining that the battery had already been changed earlier in the week. However, at 11:30 that night, the alarm started beeping again. After being unable to get it resolved, we removed it from the ceiling and took it to the front desk ourselves. The bed and pillows were also very uncomfortable. We ended up purchasing pillows during our stay because the ones provided offered little support. Another guest even commented in the elevator that the bed felt like "a boulder in disguise." We understand this is an older property, and age itself is not a problem. However, the overall condition and maintenance of the hotel were not what we expected. The breakfast was decent each morning, and the pool appeared to be enjoyed by other guests. Unfortunately, the maintenance issues, water problems, and lack of comfort outweighed the positives. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this hotel or the room we were assigned."

"The staff is available for questions. Location is convenient to Charleston and easy access to every place including a water taxi. Breakfast is great and the lady on duty is very attentive and helpful! My third time here and it never disappoints! Thank you for a wonderful stay!"

"My family and I (4) enjoyed a wonderful stay. The location on King Street is ground zero for the numerous boutiques and restaurants in the area. we walked everywhere. A park is right across the street and had an open air market during our stay. The rooms are old world charm but be prepared for the bathroom! It is miniscule!! Only one person can fit at a time but we laughed and made it work. We visited the spa which was smaller than the website portrays it to be. But the staff were extremely friendly and my daughter and I were happy with our massage therapists. Overall, I would highly recommend this historic hotel."
