It was very late October and the weather was lovely all weekend. I spent a lot of time on the pool deck on the roof admiring the scenery. I would certainly recommend this hotel to friends and look forward to another stay there.
We stayed here for 2 nights in a superior room on the 9th floor. We arrived at 11.30am and were able to check in and pick up our key by 12. Large, clean and comfy room. Bathroom had a shower and a bath, with the toilet being in a separate room off the bedroom. The hotel is in a good spot for sightseeing and is only a 10-15 min walk from the Casino. The bus stops for Nice Airport (110) and Nice (98) are only a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel, both being situated on Avenue de la Costa.
We didn't eat in the hotel, so can't comment on that aspect, but we can highly recommend Il Terrazzino, an Italian restaurant within 5 mins from the hotel.
Due to a flight delay we arrived at the hotel very late. On hearing it was our Ruby Wedding the receptionist immediately offered us a glass of champagne. Unfortunately the room we were allocated was not to our liking, we contacted reception who offered us a choice of two other rooms and although we decided to take a suite at a slightly higher rate this was reduced because of our anniversary. The receptionist was also excellent at keeping and delivering surprise gifts from our children. We had a really enjoyable stay and would definitely go back to the Port Palace.
One footnote; the receptionist told us that all superior rooms are located on the ground floor which is not ideal for views of the harbour, this information is not forthcoming on sites like Expedia.

From the moment we arrived and greeted by the exceptional staff, our stay at this beautiful hotel was the epitome of luxury. The room was clean and spacious. The food was delectable and bar and restaurant area are lovely. We will always cherish our time at Metropole Hotel and look forward to returning.
We had a really enjoyable time in Monaco and the Hotel de Paris enhanced the experience. We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and felt we should celebrate in style in Le Grill restaurant on the 8th floor at the top of the hotel. The food was good, staff were attentive and we had a really enjoyable experience.
