As with most 'city' hotels, the reception area makes it looks quite a nice hotel despite the 80's sofas, until you open the door to your room. Our dreadfully appointed third floor double room (bedside table? only if you sleep on the left) gave us a great view of the derelict land opposite, and the paper thin walls, worn out mattresses and noisy A/C did not make for a comfortable night's sleep. The bathroom was laughable, with one low powered light bulb, a leaky shower, and a toilet with a weird 'tap' flush which made a loud metallic grinding sound when you turned it - as did the neighbour's, which we found out when they used the toilet about 5am, as we were startlingly awoken by the loud grinding sound through the paper thin wall.
Add some cold coffee and a poor choice of foods at breakfast, and you can imagine why we were so underwhelmed by this place.
The only positive things I can say is that it's near to a train station, there's free parking in nearby streets if you can find any, and it's cheap. Given a second chance, I'd pay more for somewhere better.
