We found the Aparthotel Navigli after trying to search for reasonable accommodations (price and proximity to friends in Milan). The hotel is outwardly hidden, accessed in a larger complex shared with offices. The hotel itself appears to be a mix of hotel rooms and rented "apartments," thus the title. For our purposes we found the hotel clean, secure (have to go through a couple of locked doors before getting to your own room) and the staff was helpful and pleasant. The Navigli area is an entertainment district of Milan, and while there is much nightlife, the noise level was acceptable for sleeping. We didn't use the efficiency kitchen, but it was nice to know we could have.

I truly enjoyed my stay at Hotel Berna, which is just steps away from the Milano Centrale train station (about 1 block once you have crossed the open square in front of the station's entrance. I was sent several emails previous to checking in that stated that the hotel anticipated my arrival and looked forward to seeing me. When I checked in, I was able to do so early, and the staff were incredibly professional. They provided me with valuable information about my room and the surrounding area. It was a very positive experience, and I highly recommend the hotel to people who are traveling to Milan. I will definitely stay there again.

Our primary purpose was to find a hotel in Milano with easy access to the Metro so we could get to Malpensa Airport quickly the next morning. Il Girosole fit the bill perfectly since we did not have to change metro lines to get to Cadorna train station for the Malpensa Express. There are plenty of good restaurants near the red line within a few stops of Il Girasole, and the hosts provided directions to some recommendations.
The hosts also let us check in early, although all we wanted to do was check our bags. That was a pleasant surprise. The room has everything you could need including a small but very functional kitchen.
Be aware that the exterior view shown on the web site is the view from the atrium, NOT the street view. The color of the building is correct, but you will need to look for the street number on the exterior.
We did not sample the breakfast since we needed to get to the airport early.

Excellent location . We had booked a room for three people and it was a really big room with all the comforts and luxury you seldom find in a room in Europe . Having been to Milan on several trips I think this is the best hotel I have ever stayed at in Milan and will definately stay there again and highly recommend it.

We were finishing a 9 night trip through Northern Italy. We needed safe parking and a location convenient to some of the historic locations. Parking was UNDER the hotel and we were able to enjoy the trolley to the Duomo and LaScala and a pleasant 15-20 minute walk "home". True, it was daytime - not sure I'd "walk-it" at night but, I'm unlikely to walk after dark in ANY major city.
The bath and the bedding were wonderful and cost of parking VERY reasonable.
One odd thing: the restaurant was not open on a Saturday night, so, we ordered from a limited room service menu. EXCELLENT Bistro Salad, very nice bottle of "value priced" white wine, and a mediocre lasagna dish.
All-in-all, a very pleasant stay that delivered good value.
