not the best but can't beat the price!
It's an old hotel so it smells a little funky. But it's close to the beach and a really affordable price, so that was awesome! Served breakfast so that was a plus, loved the lobby area! Other than that it really is a great place to stay if you're looking for something affordable, but that's just me I'm not that picky person that has to always stay somewhere nice. Hope you find what you're looking for and have FUN! I miss Miami! Def looking forward to my next stay spring break :)

Excellent location. Great price. Older room with a lot of work needing to be done. They are in the process of renovating. You get what ypu pay for it.

it's just ok. nothing special about it. I didn't like the bed and the sheets.. Its not comfortable to sleep on.

The only thing I liked is that it was close to the beach, other then that I didn't like because it smell bad, wireless internet not working rooms not clean well, t v not working. I think this hotel needs more work in order to give a good impression to the visitors.

Poorly maintained smelly room, broken doors and windows. People shouting in the lobby using foul language and walking around like in a fish market.

Don't go!
The lobby and hall was nice. However, There was no parking. The room smelled musty and smokey - despite it being nonsmoking. The mirrors, decorations, etc. were all lopsided and falling down. The sheets and bedding looked dirty and smelled funny. The carpet looked as if it belonged in a cheap 70's motel. The hot water didn't work. The wifi didn't work. There was no microwave or mini-fridge in the room. And, it is NOT near the beach. At least a few blocks walk - and don't even try driving because you'll never find another place to park! We walked in and immediately turned around and walked out. I called expedia and paid for another place. We stayed at the Freehand Miami Hostel - which, if you have 4 people in your group it's a better deal because you get an apartment.

It's ok for staying
The Rome was not new, the air condintioner was so noisy, so I turned off while sleeping. Near the road, a little nisei. It's good for its price. I will recommend it.

Horrible!!!
I checked in and checked out within 10 mins. Room was absolutely disgusting. I hate to give bad ratings but let me just say this so that i can warn anyone considering this hotel and save them from a nightmarish situation. Pictures on hotel.com did not match what i saw. I wish i could upload pics on here because i would love for someone else to see the comparison. Blinds were all cracked and missing peices, carpet stained, had a 1970"s tv in the room, bathroom tile was chipped and not smelling fresh. Room had window AC unit and it was off and room was hot and smelly. Dim lighting in room. I immediately walked back out to the reception desk and told them i cannot do this. He showed me another room and it was equally terrible. Called hotels.com and they assumed no responsibility and said that they will honor whatever the hotel did. I ended up getting a refund on all of my money and the hotel staff and well as the manager (Ash) was very pleasant and honest. He said they actually purchased the hotel 6 months ago and its under major renovation still.

Hotel Close to the beach
It was a good stay at the Venezia for the price paid could have been lesser :) The best part is the beach is right behind and there are couple of good spots to hangout very close by like Carraba's and Soho. Can take a bus or Cab straight to South Beach like 10-15 mins drive

Not at all good.
This is a very old place; not well maintained; everything is below average. Not worth the price they charge; can be compared to a motel. Didn't get the room as per the reservation and the amount charged. Wont recommend to anyone.

We stayed for one night. Two adults and 2 young kids. The location is great. Only a couple minutes of walking to the beach. A little grocery store is right around the corner and places to grab a bite to eat are close as well. Parking is hard to find because the hotel does not have its own parking spots. The hotel is a little run down but leaves a clean impression. The room itself was spacious. The floors, bathroom and beds seemed clean.....but....underneath the bed was a disaster of cookies, old food and garbage. Quite nasty, considering it's a magnet for critters. The AC and hot water did not run properly at first and after telling it to the staff, it was played off with "it's an old hotel". Well, you get what you pay for. Anything under $100 in that area will be in that sort of condition. If you are looking for a cheap place, for a couple nights close to the beach....it's Ok.

The hotel was terrible. I got this hotel for very cheap but still it was not even worth the price I paid. Free wi-fi is a myth, you dont get signals in the room. You have to sit in the lobby to surf free internet. But the good thing is that you get signals from the nearby hotel, thats free too :). Condition of the hotel was too bad. Doors were like broken and had no safety lock inside. This hotel can surely be avoided if you get something that has slightly better reviews than this one. This hotel is only worth if you get it for free.

This hotel was okay did'nt have any issues what so ever just didnt like the old tv ,and the room above me was very hollow heard kids running around almost all the time and it was very annoying had to complain nothing was really done but other then that it was safe no complaints oo and they should concider better door keys because someone can make copys and the knobs look cheap but overall great stay .....

this hotel is so ugly! It looks like a prison. Its far from everything! The only thing they had for "breakfast" was coffee and when we got there the first thing we saw was a girl throwing up everywhere DRUNK. HORRIBLE HOTEL!!!

Below my low standards
I am quite tolerant when room conditions are not up to standards and I was expecting a less than luxury experience. However, the first room had wet carpet with a moldy and musty smell. The lock on the door is a simple door knob with a key lock and no inside security lock. After complaining, the receptionist sent me to another room that had hardwood floors and was ok. However, the TV was old and picture would turn to static within several minutes of changing channels. The two full beds were hard. A receptacle had a broken cover plate with wiring visible. The bathroom was ok. I decided to find another hotel. When I checked out, the receptionist said, " since you purchased through Expedia, we cannot give you refund." Moral of the story, I will stick to 3 star minimum!

This is not Miami Beach hotel
Yes, I was looking a cheap hotel for two nights but not in a such condition, not for this money and definitely not in an area like Miami Beach. I found another hotel at the same price, close to Ocean drive and in much better condition.

The staff was extremely nice. Room was nice and clean. Last year I stayed at the whitelaw hotel on south beach and spend over 2000 for the same quality of hotel so this was a steal. We didn't spend much time in the room this was really just a place we showered and slept. I would defiantly stay here again.

Expedia should not be offering this hotel.
Took us a long time to find it as they had not bothered to put up a sign with the name of the hotel on it. Nothing worked. The elevator licence expired in 2012. The rooms were dirty. Breakfast offered bread to toast. one of the toasters did not work and the other took at least 5 minutes to toast. Staff were not keen to sort anything out. Not only was it on a very busy road, but the hotel was in such poor repair that the windows didn't fit properly, therefore didn't shut ; the door into the room also didn't fit and could have been very easily opened so the room was not secure. We had paid for two nights non refundable. but only stayed one at an extra cost to us of 160$

For the price in Miami Beach, this was perfect
Nothing fancy, but if you're looking for a bed and a shower in Miami Beach amongst $400/night luxury hotels and want to pay less than $100/night, this is perfect.

When I booked this hotel my mind set was, due to limited funds, that I just needed a bed, shower, and toilet for my 5 night stay while attending a business conference. This was far less than the "Fair" rating you gave it on this website, at best, I would have rated this hotel as "Poor". My first impression when checking in was that it was a run down "Flop House". My worst fears were realized when I entered my room on the ground floor and noticed broken lock on window,ugly stained carpet, plaster peeling from walls, & bathroom sink pulling away from cracked and broken caulking, to name a few things wrong. Even for a "No Frills" hotel, this seemed dingy and uncomfortable. I'm serious when I say, "I waited til I was absolutely ready to go to sleep before I went back to my hotel room". Worst hotel I ever stayed at, hands down!

If you're looking for all the amenities, this is not the place to stay. We were 4 women and 4 men who stayed in 2 rooms with 2 double beds each. The bathrooms weren't cleaned every day, we had to ask for extra towels, we had , no wash clothes during the entire 5 night stay, and only 1 hand towel on the first day only. There was no fridge in one of the rooms so we had to ask for one and what they brought didn't even work. All in all, it was just an affordable place to lay our heads after our convention. We didn't expect luxury.

The hotel was very old and run down, the room was cold and when I called for service to adjust the air condition I had to wait for hours before someone came. We had no bath materials to take a shower, had to call to get wash cloths. My experience during check in was the worst, the front desk clerk indicate she needed to use my credit card to put a hold of $50.00 on my credit card, but after talking to the clerk during check out stated they did not need to use my credit card because i used my credit card to pay for my stay. they only requrie $ 50.00 if you pay in cash. so I had to wait a couple of days to see if the release the hold of $ 50.00 off my credit card. They don't even provide you with ice water only a soda machine for drinks and a snack machine for snacks. No...for the amount of money I paid for one night I would not return.

The room was really small. The hotel was not visibly marked had to gps to find the hotel and had to ask if i was at the right place. Bed was horrible the mattress was curved in and i could feel the metal springs.

Worst hotel ever. Well second worst.
There was no parking and the attendant was NOT friendly or helpful. Finally, 45 minutes later we park and the hotel was lacking any kind if dead bolt so we propped chairs and ironing boards against the door. Each bed had one light blanket. We were very happy to leave! Not recommended!

I was there for two nights n u cant even imagine how dirty was the room, i cudnt even breathe, there were no blankets n no heat neither a/c in the room.. I was there to celebrate my birthday but it got ruined. The lady at the front dest was so annoying n didnt know how to talk to her customers n the manager was horrible too . I dont understand how bad the service they provide even if we r paying. We were not there for free still the hotel looked like the horror movie haunted hospital. I dont reccomend anyone of u to stay in this hotel. If anyone wants to waste the money then its good to choose but paying doesnt worth staying in this hotel. The room smells so bad that my daughter got sick. So we stayed there for one night eventho we payed for two nights.
