Central to everything

Posted 20/10/2014
Pros: general location and the quality
Cons: not very much, just keeping check of things that can go wrong
Location: central to just about everything in general
We have stopped there before and were very happy. This time we were unfortunate that the HOT WATER TAP was broken and my wife got hot water on her but did not suffer too much which is possibly why the staff was not too bothered when I took the broken tap to them.It could have been very different if it had been someone who had mobile problems or was a bit unsteady on their feet.

Very convenient location

Posted 16/10/2014
Pros: Central City location.
Cons: Some minor maintenance needed for Shower Head, nothing serious. Better location for power outlet at desk would be helpful.
Location: Close to all of the major shopping outlets. Close to great Chinese Restaurants in Little Bourke Street. Everything in walking distance.
Check-in, Check-out easy fast and efficient. Helpful Staff. Room contained all we needed for the short stay.

A 6 night shopping and cultural stay.

Posted 07/10/2014
Pros: The front desk staff were excellent with service and advice. Close to Shops and Food.
Cons: The sound proofing between rooms. Next door shower was very loud.
Location: The hotel is ideally situated to allow easy and close proximity to the main shops. It also is right on the tram access to explore wider.

Would not stay here again

Posted 03/10/2014
The only positive about this hotel was the location. One of the most uncomfortable stays I have ever had. One of the worst things - probably the paper thin walls, goodluck getting any sleep.

Disappointing Mercure brand

Posted 02/10/2014
Cons: A full decor refit.
Location: Great location. We hired bicycles from near Federation Square and did the Capital City circuit and down to St. Kilda. Melbourne loves bicycle riders.
A straight queen bed room.. we felt we had stepped back to the 1970s. Cement rendering, exposed pipes, no opening window and a brick wall to look out onto. oh.. and nowhere to swing the cat either. We did ask and received an upgrade to a king bed room which was 100% better. only 2 lifts for 11 floors, used by cleaning staff and guests. Can't fault the staff - very helpful, friendly and accommodating. The bar was very nice with reasonable prices and happy hour but food took a long time to be delivered. Location is the best thought. Right next to Myer and walking to everything.

Right in the CBD centre

Posted 28/09/2014
Pros: Location. Quiet... single one way street at front, not masses of vehicles.
Cons: Waiting time for the elevator.
Location: Gaol visit. Females liked the shopping right on our doorstep, DJ, Meyers, H&M yawn yawn. Chinatown dinner. Laneway/ Arcade walk.enjoyable. Trendy bars
Had 2 nights here...mainly to see Les Mis at HMT, a short walk through Chinatown from the hotel. Room was fine, not gigantic but a king bed.Clean. Did not eat here, too many other choices
