Lake Tollense (area): With an area of 17 square kilometres, Lake Tollense is ideal for boating, swimming and water sports. A cycle path runs around its edge. At the south end is a bird sanctuary and in Prillwitz a historic hunting lodge. The tower at Behmshöhe near Klein Nemerow offers views of the lake and surrounding area. The northern tip of the lake is two kilometres from the centre of Neubrandenburg with its medieval city wall and 14th-century gates.
