Warm Lockwood on sim
Awesome warm quiet Lockwood home close to town good bang for your buck . Only thing I can fault on was an empty gas bottle for the BBQ and tea towels left in washing machine nothing major 9/10.

Lockwood home to love
Great property. We enjoyed our stay and the area. We knew there would be no internet and we actually thrived without it and grew closer as a family. We talked to each other and read books. My only negative would be that the beds could use a upgrade, my son preferred to sleep in the couch because his bed was uncomfortable.

We went to Matamata for a 3 day bowls tournament and this house was perfect for three of us to stay. It had everything we needed and more. Great location and very quiet area. Would recommend

Home from home
I really enjoyed staying in this home. The home was very comfortable. The house certainly had a bit of character creeking when it went from hot to cold :-) I don't know why some of the reviews I read were not that good - clearly some people are just too dependent upon Wifi and technology. Very quiet and relaxing location - I would certainly stay there again if I ever need to stay in Matamata.

Perfectly comfortable
My sisters and I stayed here while we settled our dad into a rest home. It was very comfortable with everything we needed and a short drive from everywhere. The garden is beautiful with lots of flowers and herbs and bees.

Great home just a little creaky
The property is amazing, all the things you need is there, the home is warm and cozy. Love the garden!!!! The only downfall was the creaks, bangs, slams in the roof and walls being a Lockwood home, hot summer day, the night time is very sleepless. Other then that was a great affordable home to stay in

Beautiful lockwood home at fair price
Location was nice quiet neighbourhood. Beds all had a a pillow & blanket with electric blankets, using own linen gives the home personal touch during stay. Thank you for a wonderful stay :)

Great central spot and nice neighbourhood
The house is clean and comfortable in a very quiet neighbourhood, and had almost everything we needed (we donated vegetable peelers - please leave them behind for the next people!). Please note that the single beds in the back room would not suit adults with back or hip issues as mattresses are not as firm and comfortable as we'd like, but fine for lighter kids. And the ceiling was knocking louder than we are used to in a Lockwood but we got used to it. There's a practical outdoor space which we would have made more use of if the 'atmospheric river' hadn't been dumping rain for days. Owner was terrific texting us to ensure we didn't have any problems in the storm - we stayed high and dry! We visited Hobbiton in the rain which was very special but otherwise stayed close to home because of the weather. Instead we can recommend Matamata coffee shops, the Osteria restaurant (book early!) and the op shops (we contributed quite a bit to local charity!). And over the road there's an entrance to the lovely green park which was just what we needed for a walk during a brief break in the weather. Sorry to miss so much but a jigsaw did get done! I guess we will have to come back.

The Good; the house and garden are lovely and as described. Great location and nice, quiet Neigbour hood . The resident hedgehog in the backyard was cute. Not great; the home is not connected to the internet. Given we had travelled from Australia, this ended up being expensive for us. I’m also not sure what the point of having a smart tv is if you are not connected to the internet. We had to bring our own bed linen and towels from Australia. By the time I realised this, it was too late to book elsewhere. There were absolutely no condiments such as salt, oil etc. We had to buy everything and then throw out as we were leaving. Disappointed as these negatives are little things which could be easily fixed.

Absolutely love everything about this place. Got everything that we needed for our week stay. It is not just an accommodation but a home away from home. Close to town, very clean and tidy. Absolutely stunning. We will definitely come back to this place.

Staying at the Lockwood home in Matamata
We stayed two nights in this very comfortable and immaculately clean 3 bedroom Lockwood house. Very nice neighbourhood and very close to shops. Great place to relax. We also visited hobbiton which was the highlight and this house was in a handy location. First time staying at matamata, it’s a nice place. Would highly recommend this Lockwood home. Lots of heating which made it very cozy. Living room is very spacious with comfy couch. Checking in and out was effortless.
