Considering the grandeur of the hotel it was in quite dis repair, not too great on soundproofing and needs vast upgrades. Stayed in 2 different rooms and disappointed by both.
Dingey room, rude staff, carried on like it was the ritz, never had to give ID for both guests & prove I was a guest to an extremely unfriendly bouncer after returning from a concert. Hardly any sockets in the room, t.v didn't work, no air conditioning, no proper soap, tiny towels, 1 pillow & 1 lamp as our only source of light... Absolutely abysmal

With the amount of money that I paid? I think the hotel is very below standard and I was asked to make sure that I had two forms of identification on me, Not that every person should have identification on them, that were in my party.
The bed weren’t made properly and also a headboard was missing off one of the beds and without lumps underneath the carpet
Omg my room never saw executive double ripped wallpaper , wheel missing from the bed dirty carpet , unable to flush toilet without putting lid down as it jammed on lid when up
Rooms very tired and dated
Noise to be expected as Room on front of Portland street but extremely noisy from rooms next door who were either singing or shouting
Needed Id to book in could be a problem if you don’t have a passport or photo driving licence
Not great - I’ve never stayed in a Britannia hotel before and did not realise that they insist on seeing photo ID on check in. Nowhere on Expedia’s own confirmation does it mention this, only in the small print of the follow up email that arrived two days later. Thankfully after a fair bit of persuasion I was able to check in showing the card that I’d used to pay for the reservation with.
Room was very basic and shower did not work, to the extent that the plastic dial on the wall was so stiff I was unable to turn it off and was stuck on full pelt! I had to run in my dressing gown to get housekeeping staff to help. There was filler on the wall behind it where I guess it had been taken apart and repaired previously. Signs everywhere saying ‘maintenance in progress’ although I didn’t see any evidence of this!
Stayed one night, just needed a bed really. Room very basic but everything you need. We were on 5th floor so very quiet. Room was warm but there was a fan provided. Central Manchester location.
It is an old historic building and being renewed with latest requirements with all basic amenities and beautifully renovated, neat and clean room and attache toilet. I found reasonable rent of a room.and services. Almighty God always bless team of Britannia hotel and its management. Keep it up.
Poor staff service. Things missing in the bedroom, no fridge, no air-conditioning, noisy etc. I didn't like. To expensive and horrible services

The rooms are very basic with quite old fittings and bathroom. Everything worked and the room was clean .
The windows and externals needed some cleaning and maintenance.
Hotel was very busy with long queues to check in . Receptionists looked tiered with no smiles on their faces. Menus are not Vegan friendly. I had to eat outside. Room was just right and clean . Ideal for my one night stay for work purpose.

Central location for transport. Staff helpful but it is what it is - wait for water to heat up - basic room facilities
I stayed at this hotel for 1 night 6-7 April. With most hotels of 3 stars & above, for 'single occupancy' you can expect a double bed. Not this one. The room was small with a single rather rickety bed. The hair dryer didn't work.
There was no value connected with my stay. The room was grossly over-priced at £159. Booked via Expedia & advertised as 'including breakfast, on checking in I was told breakfast was not included. Altogether then, a forgettable stay
Our room and bathroom were clean and suitable for our overnight stay. It was a windowless room but perfectly adequate for our purposes. I have stayed here before and would do so again. The staff were pleasant and professional.
Room was a through route to the lift machine room.
Could not adjust the heating and the window was so small it made no difference.
Shower did not work.
Obvious paint chipping on walls.
