Convenient position for Castle Howard. Warm room. Fabulous freshly cooked breakfast. Very helpful staff. Amazing value.
Had a great one night stay. Lovely meal in the evening. Basic but comfortable and clean room. Staff were all lovely. Would stay again if in Malton and recommend to others

Rooms need some TLC however staff service and food quality was outstanding would not hesitate to recommend
The staff I interacted with were all really friendly, smooth check in and pleasant room. It turned quite cold later in the evening (I was on a ghost hunt at Eden Camp) and when I got back to the hotel in the early hours it was really cosy in my room.
Had a key to get in the side door once the bar was closed and it was well lit and easy up to my room.
Breakfast was delicious, cereal if wanted and a very tasty full English that wasn’t too daunting size wise with toast on the side. I had a pot of coffee and orange juice too, all in all a lovely way to finish off a great stay. Will hopefully be back for the food festival in May!
Disappointing, we'd booked well in advance but upon arrival and after checking in we went down for a drink but were told that there's not really any where to sit, as the 7 or 8 tables were booked for diners. So we were ushered into a wooden room where a light and heater were flicked on. Sitting in there felt as though we were very unwelcome. We walked to the pub 5 minutes up the road where we felt far more comfortable and enjoyed a lovely meal and a great evening. Returning to the Wentworth Arms we were now welcome to sit in the warmth of the pub/restaurant which had by this time emptied. The gents toilet door nearly came off in my hand, the bathroom in our room has seen far better days, the noise from the road is a little disturbing and all in all I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. However apparently the food is excellent!
On a positive note the staff were all very friendly and welcoming.
The food in the bar was reasonably priced and well presented.
The hotel rooms are in need of an immediate and major refurbishment. We would not stay in this hotel again!
Had a recent overnight stay here, would definitely use again. The room we has was more like a compact apartment - beds, settee, tv, en suite bathroom with shower, tea making facilities. I would quite book a longer stay there, no problem.
Booked a last minute stay and thoroughly enjoyed it. The pub is in a picturesque location within 20 miniutes walk into Malton.
The building is an old coaching house with lots of character and charm. Staff were really friendly abd helpful, our room was traditional, clean and comfortable and we had a very good breakfast included.
Really easy to get to Pickering and the Coastfrom here, including Whitby and Scarborough by car or bus. Wouldn't hesitate to stsy again.
A really nice place to stay with very friendly and helpful staff. I would recommend a visit if you are in the area. We would definitely return again.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Food was excellent. Room was noisy from road outside and needed a little TLC but this was reflected in the price. Would stay again as it was good value for money.
There did seem to be noticeable wear and tear but it was clean, and that is far more important. The room was surprisingly large and comfortable. The en suite shower room was a bit small and cramped but was clean and fit for purpose. I actually feel that the room could have been a little smaller to give more space to the shower room. The staff were very friendly and I liked the photograph of the owner and her cat, which had disappeared on the second night. The pub was friendly and played pleasant '80s music quietly in the background. The whole area was really pretty. My only complaint was that they stopped serving food very early compared to what I am used to. I think this is a cultural difference between the North and the South. They stopped serving food at 8pm, while I am used to food service until about 10pm or later. I am not a breakfast eater but as it was included, I did eat breakfast on the day I left. It was very good.
Noisey no tv aeral out of back of tv breakfast poor

OK, but needs improvement
Most aspects, the welcome, drinks and breakfast were fine, but one room had ceiling lights that were not working and the other had lights not working in the private bathroom. Worst of all was the shower in the private bathroom.... highly unsatisfactory, just a trickle. These things were pointed out on departure and I hope that they will be rectified for subsequent guests.
