Had the worst experience ever in this place. Got here late at 22pm and the only recepcionist was on a freaking rush because she had to leave. Room really small and dirty, full of stairs everywhere really disgusting place.

Relax in Malaga
We were in Malaga for a couple days on the way to a longer term stay in nearby Nerja. Villa Alicia was very welcoming and charming. While being close to the historic core the street was very quiet and it was easy to sleep. The bed and room was comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed having a glass of wine on the front porch and watching night settle on the city. Our hosts had good recommendations of the top things to do and where to go. Breakfast was a good value and very convenient. It was a great time to meet and chat with other visitors. Villa Alicia is on a residential street and it is an easy 10-minute walk to the attractions. It provides a nice retreat from the bustle of the attractions and tourist buzz.

Small, cozzy close to historical center
This is a very nice small hotel. The area is amazing, quite and just a 5 min walk to historical center, but you can park on the street for free (if there is a place) which was very convenient. There is a kitchen which can be used after 11 a.m. (after breakfast time f course) and a huge fridge in which you can put your ingredients. There are small fridges in the room as well.

Lovely spot, great services
Great combination of a hotel and a hostel - optional breakfast or a fully-stocked kitchen if you want to cook. Cosy room and the en-suite was good with a good shower. Location is nice and quiet, a bit further out but in a nice local area and only 20 mins from the city centre. Lovely terrace!

This was a very good guest house. It was clean and had spacious rooms. It was well situated, ten minutes walk from bars and restaurants.

Great location, easy to find, it’s a cozy place. The staff is courteous, very helpful and professional. The only reason I don’t give a 5 across all is due to quality of bed and bath linen, there is room for improvement on this in specific.

At this place you get what you paid for. Decoration could improve a little. Location.....perfect. Street with not much traffic so not very noisy. Walk to Center about 15minutes, but very pleasant passing by stores and caffees. Travelled solo and felt very safe. Personnel....! In one word. EXCEPTIONAL . Any thing you need......they were there. Thanks for the wonderful stay and hopefully will see you soon again.

Nice service, beautiful garden, clean basic room (with air conditioning not functioning). Breakfast was included, but was starting at 9:00 am. We needed to leave at 7:00 am, so the receptionist prepared us a small cold snack the night before. The reception is open only between 9:00 am and 10:00 pm, so call for arrangements if you cannot arrive between these hours.The Wi-Fi is extremely slow. Finding a parking place on the street is a chalenge.

What a wonderful stay we had here. The staff was very friendly and at all bothered by our near lack of Spanish. They did everything they could to make our stay great. The whole place was beautiful and artistic and aesthetically pleasing. Situated in a nice little neighborhood. Highly recommend a stay here.

10 minute walk to the Alcazabar and plaza Merced where all the restaurants and the Picasso historic monuments are. 15 minutes walk from the beach. Easy to use public transport to go to Calle Larios for shopping.

Great location
Location is great! Walking distance to the city center, grocery store is nearby. 5 min by walk to the Plaza de Merced (Picasso birthplace). Tons of coffee shops and restaurants are around.

Thanks for your review. Sorry but you wrong, guest are allowed to use the washing machine.. As you can see in the web we have got 2 differents kind of breakfast and you can choose: * Muesli with milk, natural yogurt and frest fruit + Coffee or tea (4,20€) * Continental Breakfast: Coffe or tea, Toast ( butter/jam, fresh cheese/ honey , natural tomate with olive oil and Orange Juice (3,50€) This is the normal breakfast but of course if you want to order something else like egg or natural fruit place you can have it paying a little extra (1€)

Central location within a residential area
Villa Alicia is a traditional building with a certain rustic charm, original features and carefully chosen furnishings. Our allocated room was on the first floor, at the back of the building, with compact en-suite facilities and plenty of storage space The bed was comfortable with an additional pillow and blankets provided, if required. The shower provided plenty of hot water too; however, the wooden toilet seat was placed on the bowl rather than attached too it

Hola Tina, thanks for your review. I am glad you enjoyed Villa Alicia and Málaga. You are so wellcome to come back any time.. What a pity that you thought that breakfast choice was limited. We are small Hostel and we have got two types of Breakfast. One is the classic Continental ( bread, coffee, orange juice) and another choise is the Muesly with fruit and yogurt and then coffee or tea... We never thought it was limit but is good to hear differents opinions. Thanks again and we hope see you another time enjoying Málaga

Quirky, in a good way.
Not too far from the centre with a couple of bars and cafes within a few minutes walk. If you're looking for luxury, don't bother. If you're looking for character, it's for you. We were all in room's with private facilities with room 11 having a beautiful balcony/terrace.

The worth nightmare of finding a new place at 1am
I would like to understand what happened, in our previous email the staff said, if the hostel was closed when we will arrive, which happened to be around 1 am, we just had to take the keys and the instructions in the box under the mail box at your residence. We arrive with a Taxi, did the password you gave us, it opened the box, but there was no keys and no instructions. The taxi driver stayed with us, some pedestrian in the street came as well to try to help. We called the hostel several time, they never picked up the presumably emergency number. We even tried to call all the rest of the week, they never answered neither.We had to pay a 2nd trip in taxi for the city, trying to find an other hotel. In the end it was more expensive for our budget with the 2 taxis trip+ the other hotel adding up to the fatigue and stress of having to find somewhere else at 1am in the morning which resumed to be 2.30am when we finally could rest. I am extremely disappointed. I won't recommend this hostel to anyone.

Friendly hostal in historic villa.
I stay here when I have to catch an early flight. I wish I could have stayed longer. Everything was perfect. The guest house , in a beautiful villa, has retained its uniqueness. I especially like the well-equipped kitchen. My room was tastfully furnished, equipped with everything I would expect in a good hotel.

Lovely building in nice residential area
We loved the property and surroundings. We had a wonderful view of surrounding villas and mountains from our veranda. We will certainly return next time we are visiting friends nearby.

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for 3 days. We were welcomed by a very sweet lady who showed us around, and explained malaga and directions to the beach and center, and made us feel very welcomed. For our breakfasts we decided to buy bread and fruits to keep in the kitchen. The next day a different lady (seemed like the owner) was very unfriendly, unprofessional and rude towards us not knowing the rules of the kitchen (which we were never explained). We kept our fruit on the side of the counter in a bag with our name on it, and woke up the next morning to see that lady using our fruit. Instead of an apology, we were yelled at for not putting them in a special cabinet (we were not told anything about this). She continued arguing with us for about 20 min, and later cursed us out in Spanish. The rooms were very nice for the price, but I cannot recommend this hotel.

Great little inn!
I loved this place. Alicia and staff were very helpful. Great breakfast of muesli and fresh fruit for 4 euro or so. I enjoyed 20 minutes walk to central plaza and old town. Beaches are maybe 30 minutes.

Small quirky independent hotel
In October there is a beautiful smell from the jasmine plants climbing up the front of the house. We had an ensuite with a communal sitting room and the option of sitting on the small front terrace. We could also use the kitchen facilities from 9am to 9pm each day. The small hotel is quirky, with some interesting wall paintings. The reception staff were friendly and gave us map, giving advice on the map in response to questions. They spoke reasonable English - much better than our Spanish! The bus no1 takes you to the train station. All bus rides are 1euro 30. The train is 1euro 80 to the airport from the bus station. A taxi straight from the airport to the hotel costs about 30 euros. The hotel was nicely placed in a quiet part of Malaga but only about a 15 minute walk to the cathedral. The Picasso museum and house were even nearer. If you book the hotel over the Internet, they only take a 10% deposit, the rest is paid at check out. All in all, a nice authentic experience.

Delightful guest house in perfect location.
My partner and I just stayed here for five nights and loved it. The guest house is delightfully rustic and our particular room had a lovely terrace with views over Malaga and down to sea. The location is quiet, but still just 5 minutes walking distance to the centre of Malaga, and 15 minutes to the beach. The proprietor is friendly and helpful, breakfast is good, and there is also a kitchen, fridge and washing machine which guests can use. We will definitely return.

Highly recommend it
It's a really nice place that's only a 15 minute walk to the centre and 20 minutes to beach. The staff are fantastic and the rooms are nicely kept. The only drawback is that it's a bit loud but you'll have in any villa.
