We were very pleasantly surprised by the apartment, it was clean and very traditional. Two great size bedrooms with a dining area and kitchen with WM in the downstairs bathroom. The pool was only a short walk and was lovely. Great little restaurant on site with a small supermarket. The only downside was the hill, if you are fit it will not be a problem though..overall would definitely go back but hire a car.

The hostal was just what we wanted for a 3 night weekend break. We arrived very late (gone midnight) but had phoned ahead and informed the owner, Pepita that we would be late and she answered the door as soon as we rang. She showed us to our room and pointed out how clean it was! However, it was clean so no problem. We had Room 7 which had a balcony overlooking a small garden and the main road Avenida Palma de Mallorca. We enjoyed a beer we had bought at a supermarket across the road and inhaled the scent of a beautiful jasmine bush which floated up from the garden. We did not find the place too noisy considering it's proximity to a main road.
Really friendly staff, beautiful location right on the beach and fantastic pool.
Lovely beach side restaurant with great grilled squid! A little pricey but worth it.
Also no price list for alcohol so be careful as sangria was 18 euros !
Would defiantly go back again.
Me and my boyfriend stayed at Pinomar in Jul 08, on arrival, we did feel that the hotel had been misold in that it was only a 3 star whereas on the Expedia website it stated that it was a 4 star - had we have known this we would have re-considered booking it. Our room was very small and basic and had no balcony. This hotel has only spanish holiday makers therefore, the Hotel staff spoke very little English but however, were very hospitable and friendly. The pool was cosy and had a water slide, and it had a real family atmosphere. The hotel's location is also misold as it is at least 8 km away from Marbella city and therefore can get costly to get taxis to and fro. Nevertheless, and despite all the above, we did not let it hinder out trip and we had a fantastic time! I would definatley go back to Marbella because it is a fantsastic place, with amazing beaches that have clear waters and Marbella Centre has a real buzz about it, day and night. As for the Pinomar, Mmmmmm not so sure!!!
I was looking for a cheap Hostal near the Malaga Airport and chose this since it is only a 15 minute train ride from it. The biggest benefit: 10 minute walk to the train station. What's weird is that Malaga plays down the fact that Torremolinos is closer to the Malaga Airport than downtown Malaga itself. I guess the two towns are in competition for tourists.
In any case, this hostal was a lot better than expected. It was clean and recently redecorated with tasteful Ikea furnishings (there's an Ikea near by) and the staff were very nice. The building is located in a pretty, secluded garden-like complex with white stucco and a giant tree and lush landscaping. Plus a terrace. The only downside is that you have to walk on some dicey sidewalks with speedy cars to get to the beach, which is a 20 minute walk. I saw a recently dead cat on the way. However, I would much rather stay at Gerainos than some of the cheesy hotels near the beach. Torremolinos is not the prettiest nor most subtle beach town, but if you are spending a day in or near Malaga before heading home, this town and this hostal might be the ticket, especially if you are down on your Euros having spent too much of them in Barcelona and Granada, like me.
