One night stay - a gift from my husband. We managed to park and book in before midday which was a bonus. Efficient and friendly reception. Large, comfortable room with lovely views over grounds and sea. Beautiful spaces, facilities, pools and gardens. Best manicure ever and a surprise treat of a bottle of bubbly and cake delivered to our room - guess they overheard conversation or got date from passport. Great breakfast catering to all tasteless. We will stay again.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Marbella Playa Hotel! The employees were friendly, although a bit disorganized when it came to payment and charging things to the room (not unusual for Spain.) The pool and beach facilities were great, although you have to pay extra for the sun beds on the beach. A taxi or car rental is needed to get to Marbella center. If you miss breakfast you can't order food until 12:30 when the beach bar opens, but there is an Open Cor supermarket about 5 minutes walk from the hotel so that was convenient. The water slides and kiddie pool looked fun, I would definitely recommend this to families with children, however as students in our early 20's we still had a great time.
We rented a 2 bed apartment via Expedia/Marriott for a week in April. We were very pleasantly surprised by the size and quality of the apartment(s), by the excellent facilities for our children (6 and 12) and by the very excellent staff service we received. Would recommend to any families looking for an upmarket self catering holiday where you're getting a daily room clean, full onsite services and very high standard of facilities for the children. The whole place is well kept, felt like a high four star bordering on five star resort so a real bargain. We went just before the main Easter holidays so it was also pleasing quiet and relaxing.
"great all round hotel, top room with large bathroom"
plenty off choice at meal times.staff were fantastic.the wife had her phone stolen at a bar in the marina.when we got back to the hotel we told the lady on the reception , she went that extra bit to help and sought things out for us when really she didn't have to..i think she should be awarded something .to be honest all the staff were great as well . .
The hotel is very welcoming, its not too big and is spotlessly clean, the pool is good size and plenty of loungers available. Staff are excellent, animation team were great fun and there was alsosome decent entertainment each night. The food is good however we chose to each out on alternate nights rather than be all inclusive.
Rooms arent the biggest but its not a place to go and spend your days in your room.
The beach is close as is a supermarket (100m) and a few bars and souvenir shops on the main road. The marina is 45minute walk but only 6or7 euros in a taxi.
I can't recommended this place highly enough,we arrived earyl and was worried as it says check in was at 4pm but they have a case hold next door to reception and text you when the room was ready which was much earlier at 1pm.the room was lovely with a great view of the sea which is a five minute walk away as for the room it had everything you needed from hair drier iron TV DVD player CD player and was very clean.the place itself was brilliant restaurants bars pools with great entertainment at night for all the family also a train that's free and takes you where you want to go as its a big place. I found the staff polite and always there for you if you need anything and onsite cabs so no need to go looking if you wanna go somewhere. The pools where nice clean and warm jaccuzi too and the best thing was everyone else staying there got on and it had a great holiday atmosphere I will definitely be going back
This hotel is perfect for families with small children. We were just there as a couple but noticed that most of the guest were young families. There are plenty of pools and programs for the children. The breakfast food in the buffet was very good and varied. It is on a centeal areas of Torremolinos and being on the boardwalk is a bonus. I would highly recommend it. If you are not fond of children then perhaps an adults only hotel would be a better choice.
