Generaly an old hotel could need some refurbishments. Our room was really humid, we notified the reception but noting was done, no working ventilation in the bathroom. Some spots of the hotel are not cleaned, dust and spiders found. The swimming pool had some rust patches. The breakfast was good on the first day afterwards the quality and quantity went down. One day, no more cheese, only one type of bread no more "Nutella" available only some sad rests of jam available. Salad on the buffet was black and some dead flies could be found in it. We informed the reception and the day after it was better except for the "Nutella" having a sour taste.

Lovely escape!!!
It's a very beautiful place and very nice staff. The only complaint was that the heat was not working and they weren't helpful at the desk, but I saw a very old heater outside a room and the cleaner gladly got one for us. It is near the most beautiful golf course in the world! We ate in a wonderful little cafe in the village where they grilled the espetada right in an oven in the wall as you watch! Very peaceful, many walkers.

The Gem at the top of the mountain
What a jewel hidden away in the mountains of Madeira! The hotel looks like a mini museum, full of antique furniture in the warm and welcoming lobby. The included buffet breakfast is superb, and the room large, modern and comfortable. Beds and pillows are A1, and WIFI signal was strong and fast, streaming Netflix no problem. We asked for a mini fridge and it was given us right away. Keep in mind that the location is up in the mountain, so the weather is cooler. Other than that, it was close to everything, as the island itself is small and has great highways.

This hotel is very nice and well run.
This hotel is very nice and well run. It is just on the edge of a village and at the top of a hill so you need transport to reach it. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable with large bathrooms. All the rooms seemed to have patio doors which lead out to a paved area with comfortable furniture and then a garden beyond. The food is excellent though I can only comment about breakfast and dinner. Both had a wide variety of hot and cold delights. All the staff were very friendly and always wanted to help. My stay here did enhance my holiday and look forward to staying here again.

A thoroughly relaxing break
Although, we only spent a couple of days in Santo da Serra, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel- it was very peaceful, very tidy and the staff were very welcoming. Lovely breakfast too. We initially got lost on our first night, as our flight arrived late. However, the hotel is located close to park, super-market, and a Farmers' market (on Sundays). A car could be handy. However, the hotel quite close to the airport.

Great location
Having stayed all over the island, this location is great for exploring the warmer and calmer eastern side. The rooms are spacious and clean but didn't have the fridge that was on the 'included' list. One was supplied on request. Meals were very good and everything was freshly prepared. Ample car parking and the wi-fi worked fine in the communal areas. As in other places on the island, the beds were a bit on the hard side. Staff were great, very helpful and cheerful. Nice indoor swimming pool too.

Ein sehr schön gelegenes Hotel mit komfortabler Ausstattung und nettem Personal. Allerdings sollte der Wellnessbereich verbessert werden. Nicht immer war die Hygiene überzeugend. Auch sollte der Pool repariert werden. Die Veranstaltungen waren leider meist so plaziert, dass sie nicht in vollen Umfang gewertschätzt wurden, da der Termin parallel zum Dinner gelegt war.

l'accueil était parfait, restaurant très bon. Seule chose négative, l'hôtel n'est pas bien isolé contre le bruit et nous entendons le bruit des autres résidents, de la moquette dans le chambres pourrait être la solution.

A minha experiência tem pontos positivos e menos positivos..... Positivos seria-- hotel em si tudo muito bem boas instalações bom lugar ,pessoal muito amável ,comida também nao tenho nada a reclamar muito bem Que seria menos positivo-- limpeza nos quartos podia ser melhorada ,mudança de cama no mínimo uma vez para quem fica 7 dias lá, ponto mais negativo seria ruído do aquecimento é muito alta e incomoda ........mas num geral nota 5

Bel Hôtel, très agréable, bon emplacement (si vous cherchez un coin au calme), le seul petit bémol, une meilleure insonorisation des portes serait bienvenue ( papotages du soir et valise du matin dans les couloirs peuvent déranger les sommeils légers ). Entretien satisfaisant, très bon accueil, buffet correct, piscine intérieur et hammam très bien.

Très bon rapport qualité prix
Bien situé dans un bourg agréable, avec un marché typique le dimanche toute la journée Hôtel ayant peut être besoin d'un petit rafraîchissement dans le partie commune du type couloirs et aussi les chambres. La piscine chauffée est agréable surtout début novembre qui plus est avec très peu de monde dans l'hôtel Petit déjeuner sans aucun reproche Dîner possible sous forme de buffet, pour 18€ ; cela dépanne mais il vaut mieux descendre à Santa Cruz dans les petits restaurants ; plus typique et surtout prix moins élevé Enfin rapport qualité prix imbattable à 41€ la nuit avec petit déjeuner
