We haven't stayed in a motel for many years. Though the check in is sure different from those many years ago we finally got things right. Motel was just perfect for us and would recommend it to anyone.

Very clean, pet friendly! Stayed one night before going to the island, check-in was easy and friendly. Walkable to restaurants and bars as well as the fort.

Beyond Perfect!
This gem of a motel is beyond perfect! It’s spotless, comfortable, good quality linens and the couple that runs it are the nicest down to earth people you could meet. Nothing fancy but you can just imagine taking a trip back in the 50’s when you pull up to your door. We won’t stay anywhere else unless it’s booked.

I should start by saying my boyfriend and I are VERY particular about hotels and had yet to find one we loved in Mackinaw City. Well that was until we found this!! I could not have asked for a better stay. Staff was amazing from the moment we arrived. It has the small mom and pop feel and is truly so cozy! Cleanliness was 10/10. I would recommend any and anyone to stay here.

We normally stay in hotels and rarely in 'motels'. However, this was by far the nicest room we have ever stayed in at a motel. Big, spacious, good facilities in room. The hotel was also close enough for us to walk to Ferry to Mackinack island - an added bonus.

Nice old school motel
The Vindel motel was a nice old school motel, very clean and in great shape for its vintage style. The owners were very friendly and helpful. It's kind of nice having an actual key instead of a little plastic card.

For overnight motel stays in Mackinaw City, there is possibly no better option than the Vindel. Inviting, sparkly clean, convenient and quiet, great staff - the rooms are beautifully paneled with great attention to vintage detail. The beds are flawless, and the quality of in room coffee and toiletries is above average - actual bars of soap, rather than the tiny slivers offered most other places. A nice, old outdoor pool with a deep end of 8 ft! Even though located east of the Bridge, you're just a couple blocks from the main tourist drag. If it's just a few dollars more than another motel on the SE of the Bridge, there's good reason. But in MC, I have paid more for an overnight stay in much less desirable accommodations. Was hard to leave the Straights this time around!

This motel was a true delight! It is a wonderful "throwback" to travel from when I was a kid. We had an actual room key on a keychain! The room was quiet and clean, the pool was fun, and even our kids enjoyed they stay. The area was very nice and we would definitely stay here again!

Fun Family Vacation
We had a wonderful stay at the Vindel - owners are incredibly friendly and helpful, room was clean, the pool was in excellent condition and the motel was near to all of the sites we wanted to explore. The Vindel is within walking distance of many activities, including the only grocery store in Mackinaw City. The Shepler Ferry is accessible via shuttle that will come directly to the Vindel for pick up/drop off at the time you ask them to. Our dog came along on vacation and she had a great time. From the motel to many attractions, the city is extremely pet friendly.

Quaint motel. Check in was easy; and pets are allowed The property is clean and very well maintained. Had an outdoor pool which we did not use. Room was clean and it appears it was recently renovated; bed comfortable. Outside noise was minimal. Walking distance to main strip and ferry docks Hotel sent a thank you email after we checked out. Very thoughtful of them! Would highly recommend this place.

It was a quick one night stay for us. The staff was very friendly! The room as comfortable and safe. It was close to everything we wanted to do. Can definitely hear everything going on outside, but we had no problem sleeping through it. You can tell it’s an older place, but well kept up with. Would definitely recommend for quick stays!

Most reputable motels/hotels do not charge for service dogs. Old rooms need updating. Clean but blankets smelled. Check in was less than friendly. We’ve stayed at much better. If others thought it was “exceptional”, then their standards are very low

My overnight at the Might Mac
It’s an old school motel that is very well taken care of the rooms have been completely updated including the bathrooms. It’s comfortable, clean. When traveling I’m looking for a good bed, clean room and a strong hot shower. This is a tourist town so if you choose there are 5 easily walkable restaurants from this location.
