The check in process was quick and seamless. However, advertising that consumers can pay at check in and then calling minutes after making a reservation to collect full payment is false advertising and shifty.
The beds creaked and made noise when maneuvering yourself. Of course had the beds been comfortable, there’d be less shifting required. I definitely didn’t sleep well and woke up with body aches.
The bathroom was clean and the water was hot, but the tub was peeling in several places and the linens were low quality.
The other guest were noisy. People arguing. Kids jumping around on the floor. Babies crying that can easily be heard from your room. Wanted to call the front desk, but of course the phone in room didn’t work.
All of this would have been expected and acceptable if the price was low. But hiking up prices significantly for the Derby without any extra accommodation is criminal and a shady practice.
