Quirky budget hotel really enjoyed our stay. Facilities were good decent shower comfortable bed but room could do with a makeover as the painted surfaces need redoing and mirrors. lighting and curtains need attention but would love to stay again especially if those issues were fixed.

Great location , helpful and professional staff. Everywhere lovely and clean . Single room very small but perfectly ok for a one night stay. Unfortunately my room smelt strongly of stale fried food which was unpleasant and took ages to lessen . No kettle in room (despite being listed) but they have a nice communal kitchen where you can make a drink , just not in your room.

Quieter than expected, does need better windows. Quirky and quite funky decor. Decent bed. Pillows OK. Breakfast room the highlight probably and good quality ingredients in the continental breakfast (not included).

Clean, great shower, quality towels and products eg L’Occitaine shower gel, soap and shampoo. Really enjoyed breakfast options and again quality choices. My only negative was that I found the mattress uncomfortable . Pillows were ok. Room warm enough.

Swindlers! I booked and paid for a room with two beds (deluxe double) which clearly stated "two double beds" and even included a picture of two beds in the room. However when I arrived I was given a room with a single bed and I was informed that other than the "family room", the hotel does not have rooms with two beds. I was not offered any compensation or 'freebie' or other benefit. Banging doors, including at night, resonated very loudly in my room, while the noise from the busy high street right outside my bedroom was intolerable. The only thing going for this place that I noticed is a decent breakfast for only £8.

I would firstly like to point out that the room you had been located was a Deluxe King Ensuite, furnished with one king size bed (not a single as you have stated). I must also inform you that we had located you correctly as per the reservation we had received from the agency.To our horror we had discovered that room descriptions being listed on particular OTA'S was not of a true identity to the rooms we have at our property, some of which were offering an extra bed. I must clarify that was not in any way an error on our side and following this discovery I have spent a lot of time liaising back and fourth with partners to rectify these mistakes immediately. I can absolutely understand and relate to your frustrations here, if you believe you are paying for a particular facility you would of course expect to receive it. My team work incredibly very hard to ensure guest satisfaction so as I'm sure you could also understand our disappointment, errors such as these are very damaging to our brand and reputationI would like to mention that the price you had payed for your stay was correct in relation to the room you had occupied. (No overcharges there)I would strongly advise that you do follow this up with the correct party. On arrival we were asked for a deposit, which there had been no mention of at the time of booking, also that it would be returned in 10 days. On been shown out room, we had booked the triple en suite, that was shown as available on Expedia, I was travelling with my 16 year old son, and we were told the triple room was not available, do I've spent 2 nights sharing a bed with him The room was clean, however no glasses or cups in the room. The TV did not work, it shows the channels but on reporting it to reception we were told when he came to sort it that it was the weather affecting it, however the leave a message note book in the. Room has entries where other guests have said the dame we were advised to choose a DVD to watch instead. The plug on the side of the bath, was in fact the plug for the sink, o had to go to reception to request that as no phones on the room. The pillows on the bed are actually cushion size fo difficult to get comfy. The air con didn't work, and the bathroom fan was very noisy. There were plus points, toiletries in bathroom l'Occtaine, the decor in the communal areas and the bathroom were lovely. The 3 staff I encountered were very friendly and polite. Given the location was just a couple of minuted walk to who we were visiting, would consider staying here again, it's on great public transport routes, lots of places to eat, shop and socialise, and for a last minute booking ok priced for a weekend in London. Check out is at 11, but place to leave bags.

Best value for money hotel I’ve ever stayed in
Was shocked to find out what a great place this hotel was considering the price. Room was warm, clean, had a really comfortable bed and there was really nice lounge area where you could help yourself to filtered coffee. Really enjoyed the breakfast. Will always check to see if this place is available whenever in London from now on.

Very aesthetically pleasing place. Nice selection of DVDs, just we noticed one CD was missing when we picked one. It would’ve been nice to know in advance that there is a deposit for the room when we are booking. Nice to end with some sunshine!

Chose this hotel due to its location as I need to be in that area. Sadly, it was not the most comfortable stay. It’s very noisy at night both due to external noise and noise coming from other rooms. I could hear the taps in other rooms at night! Walls must be paper thin for the noise to travel with such accuracy. The bed was not comfortable either. On the plus side, it’s clean and reasonably maintained. Didn’t get any check-in instructions though despite signs around the hotel stating times and criteria that was never informed to me. Make sure you contact them in advance if you’re planning to arrive a bit late lest you are locked out of your room. I wouldn’t say there again.

A little out of the way in terms of getting to the big London sights but for the affordability and easy access to public transportation it makes up for it. It’s still easy to get where you’re going, just going to take a little longer. It’s an old building so small rooms, tight staircase and a few tiles loose in the bathroom but nothing that ever affected me. Again, more of a heads up than a complaint. Overall it was a great stay and just what I needed.

Lovely place to stay
Very quiet, room was clean, loved the decor it was very rustic. Local area has everything you could ever need in terms of restaurants, shops and quick links to the city centre. The staff were very friendly and nice. The room was nice and toasty for the winter and the bed was very comfortable. A few load people from the local area woke me up from outside one night, but hardly the hotel's fault. Aside from that, no complaints at all.

Absolutely wonderful hotel. Lovely room , big bathroom, great decor. Breakfast was outstanding with plenty of choice. Great selection of teas, hot chocolate and coffee. Very friendly staff. You will not be disappointed if you choose to stay here. Brilliant price for location.

Loved the quirkiness of the hotel. Staff were all really helpful. Bed was very comfortable. Lighting was dim so not too good for applying make up. Loved the honesty bar. Everywhere was clean. Few more hangers would have been good in wardrobes and maybe coat hooks. Great little hotel. 25mins into central London on bus.

A gem! Love this place - so this is our second stay. The breakfast is amazing and there are loads of dinner options steps away. A simple bus trip into the city centre with views from the top of a double decker for less the £2.

Nothing was too much trouble , I had a disabled son , who struggles to walk , and they were there to help in every aspect , accommodating on the best room for his needs , loved the idea of helping yourself to tea and coffee in the bar , which was like a communal room for all quests to sit and chat and relax , breakfast had good quality of products to eat , had locctain products in the bathroom , which is my favourite , so was very happy with my stay

Superb budget hotel in London - with character!
For a budget hotel in London this place is amazing despite being pretty cheap! Rooms spotless, beds very comfy, bedding and towels are high quality. Free toiletries, again excellent. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Didn't try the breakfast due to early hospital appts, but looked ok. Quirky Portuguese style furnishing throughout. Quite entertaining. Only point to consider for anyone with mobility issues - the stairs are quite challenging. Steep and twisting and quite a maze! For anyone with appts at Kings College Hospital - it's only a 10-12 min walk and plenty of bus routes nearby. Happy to go back.

The hotel has no elevator, you have to carry your luggage up several flights of stairs to your room. It says it has a bar and restaurant, however it is a lounge that is on the honor system that you can make a drink you have no idea how much you were being charged and you fill out a card and they add it to your bill. The only food that is served is in the morning for breakfast and it is bread, eggs, and a few other things the same thing every day a continental breakfast no other food I would not call this a restaurant, nor would I call this a bar.
