Stayed here for 1 night. What a place! Very idylic. Room was a really good size and layout (stocker suite). Had everything we needed. The food in the bar and grill was excellent quality and tasted amazing. Drinks were reasonably priced taking into account the furnishings and surroundings. Service was excellent and staff were well presented, smart and friendly. Breakfast was excellent. All items of excellent quality and price was good value for money. I usually like to leave some constructive criticism but could not fault our stay in anyway. Well worth a visit.

Hot tap for Bath did not work, tap for sink sprayed water onto counter top, shower pipe leaked so shower pressure poor, water leaked out of plug hole when closed, mould on bathroom ceiling... door locked but door loose in frame. Very limited dining menu - had to eat elsewhere due to allergies. Breakfast was fine but not worth the additional cost. Staff friendly and helpful enough for 1 night stay.

Being able to bring our dogs (we had 2 rooms, 1 dog in each room)... it was fantastic. Staff were lovely, food wonderful, ambiance perfect... in fact we are going to book again.

The central heating system sounds like a WII sub machine gun. Good luck trying to sleep. You could mention to reception but good luck with that as well!

Had to book hotel near east mids airport after late arrival back in UK. Booking online was easy and hotel exceeded expectations. It was also an easy drive from airport. Likely to use again if we have early or late flights out or back

Very tired looking rooms. Entrance to cottage rooms looks like student accommodation and smelt damp. Bedrooms also smelt damp and could do with some updating. Old mattresses. Bar staff friendly but reception not that helpful.

Such a beautiful setting and it was close to where we needed to be. We stayed in a cottage room and it was so peaceful yet so close to the lovely little walk for the dogs

Reception staff so good. Restaurant manager…not surel of his name, was so insulting both at lunchtime when we asked for a sandwich and coffee and in the bar in the evening. Beyond rude. If we were not attending an event at Donington on the saturday we would have departed. The rest of the staff were great although a little unknowledgable on cutlery, etc.

Nice break Cottages need updating. Stairs wet and slippy for my 90 year old Mum and no lift. Comfortable rooms but a bit tired

Many thanks for your review and feedback. Our stairway does have nonslip grips on to ensure the safety of all our guests. However, if requested in advance we can also ensure to allocate rooms on the ground floor if required. Please do let us know if booking again and we will be sure to accommodate for you

Dated in desperate need of refurbishment . Staircase and walkway unsafe and roped off. Room drab,dirty and downright depressing. Cobwebs and stained carpets,broken window and entrance door didn't lock. Refused to stay. General Manager totally unsympathetic and insisted on charging for the room.Do not believe the photos. Do not book this hotel.

beautiful hotel - lovely grounds not to expensive bar prices and a good selection of food for breakfast we had a cottage room that could do with a little tidy up but didn't affect our stay, we had a great nights sleep great nights sleep

Lovely location on the river. Rooms are reasonably spacious and comfortable. Stayed in one of the cottages. The hotel does need some updating but this is only a minor criticism. The staff are lovely and the breakfast was tasty, buffet style with an excellent choice of hot and cold food. Hotel could easily attain a 5 star experience with some additional maintenance. Windows could do with a clean and brush up, particularly in rhe cottages, especially the communal areas. Simple things like getting rid of cobwebs would improve the initial impressions dramatically. These are relatively minor issues however and I would recommend the hotel without hesitation.

The most excellent and idyllic place to stay
What's not to like about the Priest House. Amazing location. So peaceful and tranquil. Great food, fabulous service, lovely quite rooms. I love staying there. I have to say that what really makes it are the staff, so helpful and friendly.

Receptionist veey helpful asked if i could have a ground floor room on arrival. The roon was then changed for me, also provided me with a jug of fresh milk when i asked ( i dont like UHT)

Great Stay
We enjoyed a large room with amazing views over the River Trent, our room was cold on arrival due to a radiator issue, we reported it to reception and the gentleman from reception brought us a plug in heater within minutes which made out stay comfortable. Food in the restaurant was excellent and all the staff were really friendly. The location was perfect for our visit to Donnington Park the next morning

The cottages are very tired. The cottage allocated had a number of problems including a leaking and temporarily taped radiator, another radiator intermittently sounded like a generator, the hot tap leaked and spat at you. We were upgraded and moved to a room in the main building, which again was a little tired. You couldn’t change the temperature in the shower and the fitting was loose and wobbly. The hotel is in a lovely tranquil setting.
