It really is a wonderful place to stay
Just outside the old town, an easy stroll to all the sights. The hotel is stylish with friendly staff. Lovely terrace, only small issue is the bar shuts early. We will return, oh and great breakfast

The hotel and staff are great- but the rooms are tiny. There was nowhere to store clothes- the wardrobe space was open and set about six feet off the floor. The clothes hangers were fixed so I had to scramble onto a seat to get my clothes. I am 5 feet so no use for me.

Comfortable stay
Comfortable stay. Room was good size. Food and service at breakfast was excellent. Nice breakfast terrace. Not the best location, uphill from town.

Superb staff, all of whom went above and beyond the call of duty to help us with dinner reservations, beach reservations, directions etc. Clean, quiet, a great breakfast every day—superb!

A beautiful property on the hill overlooking Otranto. We stayed for a night and should have stayed longer. Gin and tonic on the terrace was fantastic. The rooms were great and very close to town.

Fantastic
My wife and I are very selective. We were surprised to read some mixed reviews of this hotel. It was perfect. The room was small but clean and positive and great. The bathroom and shower were wonderful. The staff was charming. And the location, perfect. I took morning swims and it was a less than ten minute walk to the beautiful beaches. The same for the town. I would recommend this hotel as the perfect place to stay in Otranto and of all the towns we’ve seen in Puglia, Otranto the ideal seaside town

The people are fantastic…. The best. Room had a great blackout shade but that was negated by a glass bathroom door with a window in the bathroom so the room was too bright in the early morning.

Great staff and lovely setting
The staff at Valle dell'Idro Relais were so friendly and helpful from helping us book a last minute boat trip to helping us sort some luggage we left behind. Lovely clean, stylish and comfortable hotel with a nice breakfast area. I would stay again.

A wonderful relaxing stay
Had a wonderful relaxed stay at Valle dell'Idro Relais. The hotel is well located and is just a short walk down to the old town and the sea front. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We found the whole experience very relaxing and would definitely come back again.

Lovely stay
Beautiful hotel with fantastic staff, we had a great 4-night stay in Otranto. The hotel is conveniently located just 5 minutes walk from the historical centre. It was clean and a very high standard. Breakfast was good. The restaurant recommendations given by the hotel were fantastic and the staff were really helpful. We were very h lucky with the weather so hoping to come back when the sun in shining and we can make use of the lovely roof top terrace!

A great boutique hotel close to the old city.
We were 3 couples staying 5 nights. The hotel is modern and super clean. The staff were friendly and ultra helpful. The rooms were not big but when are they when you are near an old city. For 5 euro a day we had a secure parking spot. The front outdoor garden area and upstairs areas were great for relaxing and talking. Our breakfasts were more than adequate but it was the two ladies who were there that made it a pleasurable experience each day. When we are travelling in the area again we will definitely stay here again. Cannot fault our experience.

Great hotel and great location. It was clean, had a lovely terrace and breakfast was good. It can get a little noisy if you have a room off the main road but that cant be helped.

The only thing i can criticise the hotel about are the beds on the top were quite scruffy and were not like the photos on the web site with the curtains they were torn and not on the beds 😐😐

Good Hotel, Staff Could Step it Up a Bit Though
Great location, as I love a nice 10 minute walk to town. Check in was awkward as we arrived at 12pm and they told us we couldn't have our room for another 3 hours - which seemed excessive. Instead of offering us a tour of the facilities and maybe offering us the opportunity to lounge in their sun areas, we were given back our passports and told to return in a couple of hours. When we booked tours, I had to check with them 4 times for confirmation and each time they had to make another phone call, which was a bit annoying, it felt like they hadn't bothered calling in the first place. Tours all got finalised in the end but it was a bit stressful. Breakfast was lovely. The room was airy and bright, options were vast and the coffee superb. A perfect start to the day every day.

Lovely property, outstanding staff.
A very comfortable hotel, well located to walk the old city. Staff is very good with two of the most delightful, customer-oriented young women working on the front desk. Rosella and Alma were if great help to me in resolving an issue that could have completely ruined our vacation. They also recommend an excellent restaurant that we thoroughly enjoyed. As a former marketing executive before my retirement I recognize jewels in customer service. These two young women are such jewels. They are to be commended.

Pleasant hotel in quiet area
We very much enjoyed our stay here. We liked the various comfortable sitting areas around the hotel. Staff were very pleasant. Breakfast was ok - standard European (the sweet cake was made by one of the waiting staff). Shame the jacuzzi was so expensive, I don't think it was used during our 5 days there, the price no doubt putting people off. The hotel was walking distance to the old town but far enough away from the hustle and bustle so for us, perfect. Would recommend.

We arrived at this hotel at a time when the temperature was between 94 & 97 degrees in Puglia. It is situated in Otranto about 10 minutes walk from the castle, harbour and restaurants. The decor is lovely - modern and tasteful, and the staff were nice and helpful. A word of warning though, we assumed from the website that there was a pool with loungers and a restaurant. There is a hot tub (not great in 94 degrees!) on the pleasant roof terrace and they only do breakfast. We do take some responsibility for this ourselves though, because it doesn’t actually say on the website that there is a pool or restaurant, just photo’s of the hot tub with loungers and a dining area, which we assumed catered for all meals. There Is a bar, the air conditioning in the rooms is excellent - thank goodness. It all got to be an bit of an endurance test because of the unusual heat so we cut short our stay and moved to another hotel. I’d recommend it as a sort of city hotel really and I could never stay there for the original 9 nights we booked, because having no restaurant, it all just got to be a bit hard work. Parking is difficult - there is a car park costing 5 euros a night about 400 yards from the hotel. The immediate surroundings of the hotel are not picturesque, to be honest. But for a couple of nights’ stay, the internal ambiance is lovely and the staff are very nice.

Amazing staff and location
We enjoyed a great viait to Otranto because of the comforts provided by the staff. Not having a car, the location was great, and the staff was most helpful with transportation arrangements. The lovely breakfast was a beautiful way to start the day; the relaxing ambiance was appreciated after returning from shopping and sight- seeing. Special thanks to Giovanna for navigating all the transportation!

Perfect short getaway
My husband and I had an amazing time here! I don't think the pictures do the place justice because when we rolled up we were pleasantly surprised with the condition of the hotel and the great staff. The hotel is only a 7 min walk from the main center/old town. The staff are super friendly and always willing to help with anything. Great selection for breakfast, we never left hungry. We would deffinstely go back!

Very enjoyable with just a few niggles. 1.Although we requested assistance a number of times we were unable to get Sky channels on the tv in our room. 2.The rooftop jacuzzi is charged at 10 euro per person per session which seems rather steep. All that aside the hotel was good in other ways with a good breakfast etc

Valle Dell'Idro was recommended to us by a friends family who live in Puglia and we were not disappointed. This is a lovely hotel situated just close enough to centre of Otranto to walk easily to restaurants and far enough and high enough from centre to provide some seclusion and great views. Finding the hotel when driving was a bit if a challenge due to one way system in Otranto and some advice would have been welcome. Once we found hotel the staff were brilliant, helpful, friendly and provided excellent recommendations on restaurants. The hotel provides an excellent breakfast with very good service but does not have a restaurant for evening meals which we thought it should consider providing. Although the restaurants of Otranto are very good indeed sometimes it's nice to stay and enjoy hotel facilities in the evening, especially when it rains! The hotel layout is delightful with several areas to relax in either in shade, sunshine or jacuzzi. Our room was very comfortable with firm bed, good air conditioning, a (sparsely stocked) mini bar and safe. We think this is a great hotel that we would return to and would recommend. You might consider providing evening dinner, provide some driving directions and add a little more to the mini bar.

Lovely relaxing hotel
We stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel itself is very new and in good condition. It almost passes for 5 stars. The only thing we were disappointed with was the bed. We found the mattress very uncomfortable. After the first night we asked if they could change it but they said they were new and they didn't have any alternative. The staff were very helpful during our stay.

Good hotel for exploring Otranto
The Valle dell'Idro is located away from the hustle and bustle of the centre of Otranto but is an easy 10 minute walk to the old town. Very friendly staff who will go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Rooms are quite basic but we didn't spend much time in the room and they are clean and contemporary nonetheless. The hotel has fantastic outdoor spaces including a garden terrace on the ground floor and two further terraces at the top of the hotel including a jacuzzi with stunning views across Otranto. Continental breakfast was of a good quality and omelettes were also available on request which was a nice touch. Great to be able to have breakfast outside on the terrace too. A good hotel which I'd definitely return to if I was in the area again.

Great spot
Great hotel in a good quiet neighborhood location, about 5 minutes walk from the castle and the restaurants and shops. Parking is either on the street, or 10 euro a night in their garage. Staff is very helpful and accommodating. Really nice views from all floors and patios, including lounge decks. A great choice in Otranto.

For a fourstar hotel less choice of breakfast.no fresh bread the fruitsalad wasnt also fresh.no other choice than butter.many people have colesterol problems so i dont understand that just butter is available.also no müsli there just in the box.no free parking in the garage i cant imagine.

Modern hotel, refurbished recently to a very higfh
The rooms were well furnished, sky TV was in every room. The Mini Bar was well stocked at reasonable prices. The staff were very helpful. The roof terrace was an excellent place to "chill" and was well furnished. The hotel was about a 10 minute walk from the beach & the castle, but transport was available if required ( old town, beach, station ) - you must visit Lecce a wonderful city, packed with history, try the Train only 3.50 euros for a 50Km journey.
