The GOOD: The hotel’s location was perfect, about a 5 min walk to the beach and surrounded by some nice restaurants and next door to a supermarket. It is the only hotel in the region with a pool, which is over 2 levels and would be amazing if it wasn’t so over-chlorinated, which makes it look mirky and dirty. Staff were happy to help and when we had an issue with our room, moved us to an upgraded room within minutes which was a real plus for us.
The BAD: Such mixed feelings about this hotel. When we arrived we were led to our room which was half of a cottage, with the other half another room. The room was dirty with empty water bottles and the bins were full when we walked in, as well as the toilet having been used a not flushed - not a great first impression. We were eventually moved rooms due to our neighbours burning weeds to keep away mosquitos and the smell being over-powering, and the new room was lovely in comparison. Hotel’s breakfast was limited and we are convinced it gave my partner food-poisoning, so not a positive at all. The electric goes off from 11am to 4pm (not 1pm-4pm as hotels.com have advertised) - we have experience staying in hotels where the power goes off, but generally they chose hours more appropriate (like 2am-7am), not the 5 hours in the middle of the day when it is at it’s hottest, or if it is raining. Overall, if you are a hippie or a rock-climber, then this hotel is perfect. If you are a relatively normal person, consider elsewhere.
