“Great hotel!!!”

Excellent experience. Room was great - it was big, modern and very clean. The staff were very helpful and efficient. I was pleasantly surprised and will now only stay in this hotel while in Kiev. I read a lot of reviews about the buffet breakfast - and they were all correct - fantastic! The location is also very central.

“Everything worked, nothing broken, for Ukraine thats pretty good..”

Great value for money, central location but noisy with the windows open ( which had to be open becuase the heating was somehwere between 'hot' and 'nuclear' - better too hot than too cold! Breakfast great except the Hotel thought they'd rip off tourists by offering all inclusive breakfast WITHOUT coffee which was 17 Hrivnas extra - ha ha but thats £1.70 - little do they know its £ in starbucks so still cheap! Apart from that, great place, decent value for money and the first place i've ever stayed where they put condoms in the mini bar...?!?!

“Good value and Interesting”

The position of the hotel in central Kiev is very good - between the river and Independence Square. However, the air conditioning in my room didn't work and so it was rather cold...

“It's Ukraine, what do you expect, I was told.”

Read the other reviews and went anyway. My biggest complaint about Kyiv is the people, they are almost without exception RUDE, RUDE, RUDE and RUDE. Good luck hosting the Euro in 2012. I must say, I did meet a few nice folks, at the beach and walking around; your experience might be better if you don't speak Ukrainian, Russian would be ideal. But lets stick to the hotel. Overall an okay hotel, they can't be blamed for the Soviet design and philosophy that went into the structure. Rooms are small, but I slept like a baby, and the air conditioning worked (I was there during a 35+ degree heat wave) and the restaurant served really good food. Hotel was clean and sheets were fresh. Can't beat the location. Good internet accessibility, staff was helpful in arranging a wonderful guided tour of the city, helped with recommendations of where to eat, and what areas to avoid. Would I stay there again, you bet; if you can talk me into going back to Kyiv.

“Basic but comfortable”

Hotel is basic but comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. Good value for money and within walking distance of most of the main sights in Kiev. Some of the old soviet fittings remain (e.g.the dysfunctional radio built into the room) but this added to the experience!

“Hotel Dnipro Kiev”

This ex Soviet Hotel has made huge strides. At half the cost of a Western type hotel it is well worth considering for people who are looking at a tight budget.
