This is a lovely hotel to stay in. The staff were very attentive especially to my 16 month old grandson. We stayed in The Executive rooms which gave us access to extra amenities such as breakfast, afternoon tea, cocktails, canapés etc. etc.
I found the chairs and lounges in the Executive area not very comfortable particularly in relation to the tables. They seem too low.
It was a little disappointing to discover that the shuttle boat no longer goes across the river to River City however the public ferry is only a short walk away and inexpensive. The shuttle boat now goes to Asiatic markets which is a bonus.
The Peninsula Hotel is a great hotel in a super location that is elegant, user friendly and very safe. The staff is great and morning breakfast is a fantastic way to start the day after one night in Bangkok. Don't miss the weekend market, the floating market and especially the Tiger Temple.
We really liked this hotel. It has a classic and modern feel about it which makes it good for families and business. The staff are very polite, warm, efficient and extremely helpful. The hotel was clean and spacious. Many rooms with stunning views of the river. The swimming pool was a great bonus and was a great way of cooling off after sight seeing tours. Massage service available in the pool area.
The hotel had a real 5 star feel about the place and service was excellent.
We ate wonderful Thai food in the hotel restaurant and their buffet breakfast was excellent.
The hotel is locate on left bank of the Chao Phraya river and close to Sena Fest shopping centre which has plenty of restaurants and coffee shops. It's also just a short walk to many local street food restaurants and excellent massage parlours. It is ideally located for transport by taxi, tuk tuk, BTS sky train and there is a pier next door where all kinds of river trips can be taken.
We had a nice stay, helpful staff, restaurant from 6 AM was great but traffic noise is a minus. Bangkok itself is easy to access but there is little entertainment here. To get to Bangkok you either have to walk to BTS or take the ferry.
This hotel is on a busy street but is so quiet inside you wouldn't know it. The hotel is only a couple of blocks from the BTS and from there you can go almost anywhere in Bangkok. The neighbour hood is very Thai, but you have new friends instantly. You also can shop and eat where the Thai people shop and eat. This is a very family oriented hotel and it is low cost without low quality. We look forward to going back again and again.
