The staff were incredibly friendly and very accommodating. It is in a superb location for the beach and for going to Argostoli and travelling across the island. The pool and bar areas are stunning and we had an excellent view of the sunset from our balcony. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the island and am already planning my next trip.

Me and my friend stayed at oskars as we wanted a nice chilled holiday. It's out the way and it has a beautiful view. The staff are amazing and the food there is exquisite. Great experience we are planning our next visit in September.

The hotel is new and very well maintained. The hostess (Aphroditi) is an excellent host and makes sure that you have anything you need. The small village of Agia Efimia is a quiet and very quaint place. It is suitable for families as well as couples/singles. Restaurants/grocery shopping is within walking distance from the hotel. You can swim at the hotel's swimming pool or choose to go to one of the amazing nearby beaches (you need a car or bike). Plenty of things to see on the northern part of the island as Afroditi pointed out to us and she was right on the money. I highly recommend the hotel as everything was perfect.

The Villa was great, comforts of home with our private pool and the views were breathtaking. You need a car to get there and to town. Spiro (Manager) was great and very informative of the area. Make sure you rent a boat and go to the island across the way and to all the secluded beaches and caves. Spiro will hook you up.

After reading all the previous reviews, I thought it would be hard to meet those standards. Well, it went further and if I could it would be six stars. Arrived on an very early flight from Athens, welcomed into Katerina and Barry home/hotel and from that moment is was a life changing experience.
We hired a car for the second half of a six day stay and each day, we were given guidance of what to see and do. For the first three days, Katerina and Barry would drive us to the local town, where we would hop on a ferry to one of the islands and then get a taxi back.
In the evenings we were treated to Katerina's cooking. Imagine your favourite restaurant, well this it is plus a lovely setting looking down on the flowers in the courtyard and village.

"Good choice for holiday - Better than main centres"
We arrived at the Island around 9.25 via Ryan Air, not the most comfortable of airlines but acceptable for a 3 hour journey. Having picked up the hire car, it was quite an event to drive on the right hand side of the road in a left-hand drive car for the first time and it was hairy trying to find the hotel in the dark with a minimum of road signs but after several wrong turnings we made it. Thank goodness it was only 2 miles from the airport. Had we chosen a far more distant resort it would have been a little unnerving to undertake such a journey for the first time.
We had overall a lovely week apart from Thursday. We had decided to drive up to Fiscardo at the top of the island but the heavens opened before we arrived. When it rains on Kefalonia it is generally torrential. We spent a hair-raising 2 hours trying to make it back to the hotel on a coastal hairpin bending road with orange coloured floods and falling cliffs but we did make it. The island is beautiful but the roads on the whole are full of pot holes and very poorly signposted. Still it was an adventure. We had some wonderful meals and enjoyed it thoroughly. I would have liked more information about the filming of the book Captain Correlli's Mandolin, which alerted us originally to this island but there was little if nothing to advertise that it had taken place. That was quite a disappointment but with some research on-line we did find some of the locations where filming had taken place.

Balharamba suites are sheer quality in the centre of Fiscardo but tucked away from the main strip of seafront restaurants. Our apartment was spacious, well equipped and beautifully clean. We didn't miss a pool as the sea is perfect for swimming and beaches are within walking distance. The owner Angelo is very helpful and knowledgable and the lady who serves breakfast and cleans the rooms is adorable.
Only two negative things:
1) We arrived at 2.30pm on a Saturday to find reception closed. There was no notice but we were informed by the next door spa that it would open around 5pm. Luckily we had a hire car to store our luggage and went to the local beach but it would have been nice to unpack after travelling from the UK. Angelo was away and had left his brother in charge who did later check us in.
2) On our last evening we went to tell reception we would be leaving early the next moring and would leave the key in the room and to thank them for a lovely stay. Angleo's brother was in charge again and said he had no record of us paying (we paid through Expedia). He phoned Angleo but would not let me speak to him and I tried unsuccesfully to access Expedia and our credit card online. This was not how we wanted to spend nearly an hour of our last evening and were made to feel quite uncomfortable when it turns out the problem was actually between Expedia and the hotel.

The Faros Suites are in an excellent location for the harbour and give great views of the across the bay. We had the room at the top of the hotel which was a very good size. The kitchen was ample in size and well catered. Our host Taz was excellent, nothing too much trouble. A great choice for breakfast including very good hot croissants and a selection of Greek yogurts. I would highly recommend this accommodation. Note you need to be reasonably mobile as there are stairs.
