"If you like walking this place is definitely a must. We stayed at Ayenda and walked to the beach daily as well as to monument where a video of us was taken, that was a lot of fun. Downside, we didnt have running water often and that really affected us and our view of the place. Make sure the price you were promised and the price they charge you is the same. I was told $165 but ended up paying around $240. I should have checked myself so I won't blame the location, just want to make sure people...

"We stayed at juanmar for 1 night as a quick getaway from the city during our 1 week trip to cartagena. Pro's: the staff and the owners were absolutely wonderful and very warm and welcoming. "The property is very charming, clean and uniquely designed. The service is great; polite and ready to please. The surrounding beach, however, leaves a lot to be desired. The very unkind Magdalena River unloads metric tons of driftwood and other natural junk on the surrounding area on a daily basis. The hotel staff do their best to clean their section of sand, resulting in piles of garbage on both sides of your beach."
