Upon checking in we were informed that our booked room was not available and that we would be downgraded (with the appropriate discount, of course). However, this was an anniversary trip for us and the room that we had booked was pretty important to us. The staff were not at all sympathetic or even helpful, only telling us to just check back the next day to see if another room was available. We bypassed the front desk and found the HR office where the lady there was so very nice and immediately set out to help us. She contacted the manager that was on site, and he immediately appeared and made everything good. We are so very appreciative of the result and it turned our whole vacation around! To their credit, there was a convention or two in the area, and I'm suring there were booking issues there. However, it didn't seem fair to bump us from our room for that reason or without any prior notification. I do recommend this hotel for a stay and the area is beautiful.

We had a wonderful relaxing stay! Being able to walk right down to the beach was amazing! All of the staff members were super nice and accommodating making us feel like they really wanted us to have a nice stay. We loved the pool area but REALLY wished the pool was heated like at some of the other hotels because the water was way to cold to go in and enjoy the pool( the weather was warm enough to swim but pool water was freezing). One thing that was not so great was the smell of the water and pipes I smelt it the entire time we were there.

Gorgeous property!! I love the ability to just walk to the beach. Finding sand dollars each morning on our walk was the highlight of the visit! We will definitely be back! What a lovely little find! Also, the restaurant, The Shore, is amazing! We ate there several times!

We had a wonderful stay. The amenities here are terrific. Beach access and pools with jacuzzi were the highlight. The manager cares and interacted with us to ensure a great trip.

Disappointing
The hotel was beautiful. We booked a balcony, island view room for our family of four. We were very disappointed to learn that we did not have a balcony, but a patio facing the parking log and dumpsters. I asked the front desk about the room and they told me that I received what I paid for. Our room was a balcony room on the first floor. This was so disappointing. We specifically booked this hotel for the balcony and paid extra for that room type. A few other things worth mentioning: -No bedding for the pull-out couch, called the front desk and they said we had to come get it (even though 4 staff members were working at the front). We were given one sheet and one pillow case. - Two bath towels for a family of four, called the front desk and we had to make another trip to get more towels. -The plates and glasses in our kitchen were all dirty and greasy. The disposal did not work and the sink hardly drained. -Our room was never cleaned during our 5 night stay. Could not communicate with housekeeping as they did not speak English. -There were also screws in the hallways on the floors which was strange. There the whole time. -We were promised an 80-degree pool and there was no way it was even 70 degrees. The hot tub was hot one day and cold the next. Many guests were upset by this. -Every morning there were large trash bags placed on our patio, not that we would want to sit there to watch the parking lot but it was very rude. I was very disappointed overall.

The facility and room were excellent. We were there over Christmas so room service was limited to changing towels, no trash pickup or other. Restaurant was good, selection and price. The free breakfast was inadequate for the number of customers, out of most items including juice.

Our room had an obstructed view that it wasn't supposed to have. Their was a missing handle bar on dresser drawer and a live cockroach in the closet. It could have had more care given to the room at its rate.

Not worth it!!
The hotel is in good shape because it's new. Housekeeping does a goid job at cleaning. The wait staff is horrible, inattentive, and downright made us nervous. It doesn’t seem like it's being managed well at all. Despite the nice room, we feel we paid almost double the value. The resort fee and $10 credits just cause you to spend more when you go to try to use it. That made us even madder. Not worth the money. Staff making us feel uneasy/not safe. NEVER AGAIN!!

If you are bringing a pet aware!
If you are taking a pet be aware that when you go check in they will make you sign a wavier about your dog being in the room. If they deem it necessary to remove your dog they will! This has gotten to be a trend in several nicer hotel chains! There is never a word about it until you get there! If they don’t want to accept dogs then they shouldn’t allow them period. They also do not give you a copy of this form you just got jacked up on. As far as our stay there, The room could have been a little cleaner. My dog who is perfectly trained and goes out every few hrs, had a hard time because there were so many other animal smells she couldn’t quit sniffing! For them to charge $150 for the dog and not clean the carpets is ridiculous! The Food at the hotel was good in the restaurant. They had a breakfast bar that was good for family’s. My son loved that they had a waffle maker. The staff was great at the coffee bar! The room was well equipped but have the big bottles of shampoo and body wash in the shower instead of the little bottles which I am sure is more cost effective for them. But the shampoo and the body wash were both empty. I went down to the front desk and they gave me new ones to replace it! The pool area was very nice and well equipped. Nice board walk down to the beach area. The cleaning crew couldn’t speak ANY English at all! We were supposed to have a 12:00 check out time however, the front desk said they dont have 12:00 check out it has to be at 11:00!

View is great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok but not what you would expect from a Marriott. Hotel could use some modernization but still was nice. Still would stay again if opportunity presents itself.
