"Mandy is a fantastic host--she went over and above to make our stay comfortable (including lifts to and from the ferry port and letting us meet her two gorgeous dogs). "The property is a period house and the owner Chris has kept it to that style, very clean with a excellent breakfast cooked to perfection by Chris with a wide and varied choice of food. Whitwell is a designated dark sky area with some very pretty houses lots of thatched roofs,the local pub is only a few minutes walk and well worth a visit,the food is excellent. I would definitely recommend a stay at Kingsmede ,it fulfilled all my wife and I hopes"

"Came here with two friends. Booked a triple room with breakfast. Loved our stay from start to finish! It was spotlessly clean both in the room and elsewhere. Peaceful and quiet, which made it so relaxing. It's on a hill with the most amazing sea views, indoor and outdoor hot tub and swimming pool. (outdoor swimming pool is also warm). It came with free access to the nearby gorge/chine which was stunning. Price reasonable. Breakfast was lovely, and all the staff was very sweet, friendly and helpful. The perfect place to recharge your batteries 🎊. "
