Room (28) was too small and window covered in opaque film so you could not see out. For a room costing £185 a night i would have expected better. Dinner and breakfast were good but cost extra.

The staff is very accommodating. I travel with meds that need to be refrigerated, they were very helpful getting them in the fridge for me. & freezer for the gel packs. My only warning are there is no lift, but staff helped with the luggage. There is also no Air Conditioning. The staff was quick to respond with a fan to help with this surprising warm spell in mid May. Dinner & breakfast were delicious!!

1. Checked in at 6:30 pm on 10 May, room N 28. Room hasn’t been cleaned, toilet hasn’t been flushed, they moved me to room N 26 by 7 pm on 10 May. 2. Stayed in room N 26 most of the time, from 7 pm on 10 May to 7 pm 11 May (life wires on the bathroom floor, cigarette buds on the wind. seal) tried to contact the owner over email, 21 hours later she refused refund. 3. Manager offered me to move to Highland room, which was overlooking life music band playing until after 10 pm on my first night, and 21st bit party until midnight on my second night. I decided to stay in unsafe but quiet, dirty room. 4. 21 hour later, the owner had finally addressed the issue, offered me an UPGRADE room N 9 - 2.5 stars at the most, the toilet in that room still wasn’t flushed (no kidding), linen and towels weren’t changed, etc, but was no life wires in the bathroom! They moved me there at 7 pm on my second night, but only for THREE hours. 5. After 10 pm constant banging noise inside the walls became louder, apparently it was from the boiler that cannot be switched off. This time they moved people from few rooms, including me. I was advised to take Highland room (birthday party until midnight), the quote: ‘At least you can sleep after midnight, because the noise from the boiler wouldn’t stop all night’. And so I was back to the Highland room from about 11 pm 11 May until 8 am 12 May. All in all, 5 rooms for 2 nights stay, none of them is acceptable 350 pounds paid 4 days before checkin.

The boiler made loud noise in room and music downstairs was very loud and did not quit until 1 am . Complained about noise but not much was done about it . Shower had mold bathroom was dirty needed a good scubing.

The hotel and staff were very accommodating. They were able to book us immediately after our Airbnb was canceled and they were understanding and empathetic towards our situation. It was reassuring to have that level of service during an emergency. The rooms we stayed in were comfortable and the food was delicious. We will absolutely be staying at the Beaufort Hotel again and I will be recommending it to anyone staying in Inverness.

The booking was advertised as a king bed and it was really a double. My husband and I are both tall people (he is 6’2 and I am 5’10) and we’re shoved on this tiny bed. It had no fitted sheet, so anytime you would move it would expose the mattress underneath. It was also a very old saggy mattress. You aren’t allowed to use the tub late at night (I work graveyard shifts, so we are night owls), and there was no shower. The room also had some kind of roach in there, my husband didn’t even want to put his luggage on the floor as he had killed two of these bugs and was worried that they would get in his clothes. This place has charm but as international travelers, I would never stay here again. Not a wink of sleep and had to leave unshowered.

Everything was recommendable except for two things. Only one refers to the hotel and the other is to do with Expedia. Firstly. I had the continental breakfast and it was poor. Cereal choice was very poor. The garnish on the cheese and cold meat options were fresh pineapple, grapes,raspberries and blueberries. They would have been nice as part of the fresh fruit choice whereas there was the standard bananas, apples and oranges. No prunes and no fat free or low fat yoghurts just full fat yoghurt. So it was expensive for what I had as I am a vegan and in mostly other hotels I can have a good plate of fresh fruit and fat free yoghurts. The other problem was caused by Expedia. The hotel tried to access my credit card to retrieve their fee. They tried twice and failed and then I discovered I couldn’t use my credit card again as a block had been put on it and I had to contact the bank to get it removed. The hotel had had this problem before I think with Expedia so I definitely won’t be using them again.

Location of the property is ideal and walkable from Train and Bus Station. The downside of this property is that there is no elevator so guests arriving with heavy luggage or with disability will have to face challenges.

Room was extremely tight, but we made it work. The beds were pretty old with mushy mattresses and squeaky springs. Bathroom was spacious but the towel bar was WAY too hot and literally burned your hand if you accidentally grazed it.....and it also made the bathroom feel like a sauna.

Having stayed several times at the Beaufort Hotel I feel very happy with the service I've experienced there. The staff are so nice and helpful . This time I felt the food had improved greatly and there was a good choice of menu.

The hotel is great The main areas are stunning The room I was in was a very nice room However it could do with a good bit of TLC & check over Some dirty stained walls, other areas badly marked or missing painting A very good deep clean & a fresh coat of paint would do wonders considering price paid for room Apart from that it's a really nice hotel that I'd recommend & stay again
