Lovely little cottage
We enjoyed our weekend at Akupe. Everything we needed was there, although it would be nice to have a freezer as we had brought some frozen goods. But for a weekend stay it was no problem going without a freezer! Lovely part of the country & we enjoyed our stay 😊

Thanks for your feedback. Yes! we're going to get a fridge/freezer or small freezer, along with a benchtop oven, hobs, and an upgrade to the power so that all appliances can be going simultaneously.

Close to destination. Easy to find. VERY OLD property that needs attention. Smells musty. Weeds to greet you at the front door. Ran out of hot water in shower (2 people). Stove electricity dangerous. Can't operate stove and microwave at the same time - blows the fuse. Plenty of ants. One small mirror. Honestly can't recommend this property. Over priced.

Our cottage is budget accommodation and in the lowest 10% nightly rate in the Martinborough area. We have considered updating the bathroom, kitchen and carpets, and would then increase the nightly rate accordingly. And no Pets. The hot water tank is 90 litres, and at 8 litres per minute, would allow for 11 minutes of showering, a point that hasn’t been mentioned previously. Yes we have plans to replace the oven with an individual bench top model and standalone hot plate to negate the fuse issue. We will continue to bomb and spray the ants, which have appeared in the last couple of years. There is a portable full length mirror in the single room.

Peaceful farm stay
Great get away, loved the farm sounds and smells. Our border collie really enjoyed it. Mornings would have been nicer if the eastern hedge was removed. Great comfy bed and brilliant shower.

A Lovely Sanctuary
If you’re looking for a quiet weekend away with just the sound of sheep and watching tūīs this is the place, we came here to do nothing and it fit the bill perfectly. Basic amenities but what more do you need. Thanks so much!

Hidden Gem
Great place stay. We were traveling to be stall holders at martinbough market. Host is friendly and accommodating. It was only 10min from the main square, nice and quiet with lovely farm setting to enjoy.

Can't dispute this is a great location. Peaceful and beautiful surroundings. The rooms were all good and comfortable, tidy and clean, other than the bathroom/shower/toilet which is quite basic and rustic. While I'm used to country living and the odd bug, it would be good if the ant trail in the bathroom was attended to.

Peaceful retreat
We were delighted to find this quaint little cottage in such a peaceful location. It was comfortable and warm and perfect for our small dog. We enjoyed a game of badminton on the lawn and had a great sleep in the comfortable bed. The rural location suited us perfectly .

Quiet in the countryside
We had a lovely long weekend stay at this wee property. It is small, but comfortable, and our two greyhounds loved running in the nearby paddock every day. The drive into Martinborough is short and scenic. And Shayne was helpful and friendly!

Stayed at Akupe cottage to be near Martinborough for a wine tasting event, but also out of town somewhat. Location was excellent - close enough to Martinborough but also felt like you were in the middle of nowhere. Cottage was very clean and tidy, with all the things you needed and nothing you didn't. Excellent vehicle access and still with internet access in case of emergencies. Hosts were friendly and easy to deal with. Would highly recommend this accommodation.

Enjoyed relaxing in this quiet farm spot. Gave us the opportunity to either chill out on the deck, in the backyard or drive into Martinborough for a coffee/ beer. The badminton area in the backyard (plus gear provided) was great to use once the heat dropped.

Delightful country cottage
A very cute cottage on a farm away from the hustle and bustle but only 15 mins from town. It had everything we needed and we enjoyed the company of the sheep in the paddock next door. Very clear instructions made finding the place very easy. Lots of books, DVDs and games to keep us occupied. A lovely spot to stay in.

A very nice stay here during Christmas to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing time away in the country. The cottage was comfortable and tidy, had everything we needed. Our two family dogs enjoyed Christmas away with us and it was great that they were able to join us due to responsible dog owners being welcome. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this cottage to anyone travelling to the region.

A Kupe Cottage
A peaceful rural spot to make a return visit to from 10 or so years ago! We’ll set up, sheltered from the worst of the severe storm this weekend! Cottage looks externally like it could do with a paint job!! Also pity about the large dump of concrete & old building demolition materials on the neighbouring field! Is this clean fill? Or will it over time cause chemical letchate which will contaminate the soil & get into wetlands & streams I wonder? Otherwise a lovely place to relax, Ngā mihi nui, Mary & Jonathan

Beautiful country retreat
We enjoyed our stay in the cottage so much, it was just what we needed after having spent a few sleepless nights staying with relatives in Wellington. No noisy neighbors here! Our little one loved the board games and the selection of DVDs, badminton was an extra bonus. The cottage is so peaceful, private and beautifully appointed with all you need. With just a short pleasant drive from the township, we would gladly stay there again. Thank you so much for having us!
