This is a favorite hotel given its location, convenience, cleanliness and friendly staff. The rooms are small but that is to be expected in central SF. Everything met my expectations at a reasonable price.
Lovely, elegant entrance foyer, two great bars and an excellent restaurant, combined with perfet central location make this an ideal place to stay. Being in the Union sqare area means a lot of the city's history and architecture is within easy walking distance. Staff are helpful and pointed out some iconic restaurants. The cable-car goes directly past the hotel and takes you over to the waterfront areas. The room was small but well appointed, and a little noisy at night-not unexpected given the central location. Would definitely stay there again.
Bar and gym were still being worked on. Lobby is pretty spartan, but they more than make up for it with free beer and chips. My room was a little on the small side but had very cool and comfy decor with wood floors and high ceiling. Nice bed. Not much of a view from my room. This is a great option if you're getting it at a competitive rate. Much more interesting than your Marriott, Hilton, etc.
I rented this room for my granddaughter and her new husband for their wedding night. They were treated like royalty they were extreamly happy with the room, staff and respect given. They would definitely stay there again when in San francisco. I am personally pleased with the treatment given to them.
We stayed for 8 nights and enjoyed every night. The staff was wonderful and had great recommendations for dining. Vanessa was great and always so welcoming each afternoon. Mike was great in booking our tours. The rest of the staff was great. Moa was a terrific encourager each morning we dined in the restaurant. It is the small things that make an impact and they truly excel in them!
The lobby was clean & nicely decorated. The staff at the desk took care of us right away. Our gear was stored tho it was hours before check-in time. Everyone showed us great courtesy & made us feel secure. The location could not have been better, for dining, dancing & gallery hopping. The day & evening concierges were so helpful, it really made our trip memorable. We will most certainly visit here again.
My husband and I stayed at the Sir Frances Drake hotel SF for 3 nights and very much enjoyed our stay. It is older and rooms are pretty small but we didn't mind after we got settled in and began enjoying our stay and visiting with staff. Everyone was very friendly and the restaurant attached is excellent! Location is absolutely perfect. Walked every where (except Fisherman's Wharf). Street noise in the room was a little loud but eventually everything settled down and it was fine. Would absolutely stay at this hotel again!
