"Larry and Linda are very knowledgeable in providing tips to the local area. Larry used to be the Mayor of Hermann and councilman at the county level. The upstairs bedroom with onsuite bath was charming, spacious, and comfortable. However, if you are tall or overweight the upstairs is probably not a good choice as the steps are steep but they have other very nice rooms with beautiful screened in terrasse. The stone house is definitely a jewel decorated very much in the Germanic theme, bringing back many fond memories of my time in German."

"This place felt like a hidden gem and oasis in Hermann.💎The property is beautiful, unique, and full of charm.🏡 Most rooms have private entrances and easy access to the courtyard, guests can enjoy nightly live music, a fire pit with s’mores, and a wonderful, chill atmosphere.🎶🔥🍫 As a bonus, you can even feed graham crackers to the friendly bunnies who roam the grounds - a great photo opportunity. 🐰 What truly made our stay exceptional was the outstanding hospitality from Brandt, the property manager.😊 We were celebrating our first anniversary, and he surprised us with an upgrade from a standard queen room to a king whirlpool suite, making our visit to Hermann even more memorable.❤️ We had mistakenly assumed breakfast was included with our two-night stay, but later learned that it’s only complimentary for stays of three nights or more. It wasn’t a big deal-we simply missed the fine print. However, the next morning, Brandt knocked on our door and let us know he had prepared breakfast for us anyway, apologizing for the confusion. Not only did we receive a phenomenal breakfast that morning, but again on checkout day.🍽️ Brandt didn’t have to do that, but his kindness and willingness to go above and beyond made us feel truly valued and appreciated.🥰 Another nice touch they have at the Captain Wohlt Inn are their amazing fresh baked cookies given to you upon arrival and every day of your stay.🍪We highly recommend this place during your next visit to historic Hermann, MO!"

"This property worked for a one night rental. There were 4 people. We rented one night due to a wedding the next day. The 2nd bathroom is extremely tiny but worked. Parking is somewhat awkward but the host was very good about letting us know where to park. We had no issues. We rented during the week so we were the only car but during busy season parking will be tight but parking is also available on main street. The main bedroom and bathroom was large. The rental was clean small but very cute. The entry was very cute. Worked very well for what we needed. It’s also very conveniently located. 1837 pub and grill was down the alley and right across the street 2 minute walk. There was coffee in the fridge in a container and coffee filters. The host was flexible in letting us check out at noon so the guys could get dressed. Overall thumbs up for our needs."

"My group of 10 absolutely loved this house and would definitely stay again! Perfect location, easy walk to many wineries, a distillery, shops, restaurants, and coffee. We are two families of adults from KC and Chicago. Hermann and this house were perfect for our get together.What we loved about the place? Big rooms and high ceilings, great backyard, nicely decorated. We hung out on back patio every morning. We loved hanging by fire pit at night and when it started raining hard, we all sat under the covered porch and continued our conversations. Loved big dining room table where we played board games. House is over a hundred years old so expect creaky stairs and floors (part of its charm). Stairs also steep but that was ok for us. 2 big bedrooms are on first floor and use the one large bathroom with large walk in shower. The second story bedrooms (both large) each have their own bathrooms with tubs. One of the 2nd story bathrooms has a couple little issues like a shower head that is at about 5 feel and a very small toilet seat that doesn’t fit the shape of the bowl (could be fixed with a 20 oval seat). First floor shower head also needs to be cleaned or replaced as it was not working well at all. We cleaned it a bit and it worked better but still needs to be replaced. It is such a beautiful shower, we would have loved to use it more. We stayed 2 nights in May when weather was 70-80. A/C worked, wi-fi, and electricity worked just fine. Loved this house and Herman!"
