Very good option for a short stay. Close to the main attractions. The rooms are cozy and the amenities are very basic, I can’t recommend staying for long. They offer a great breakfast and the reception is very friendly.

The location at the base of the castle was superb. It's also next to the he funicular, which was unfortunately under maintenance. Excellent restaurants abound and all hotel staff were superb and spoke English.

Looking forward to my next stay
Very nice stay. Nice breakfast, in house laundry & a beautiful view of the hills and castle from the terrace. The hotel staff are very helpful and accommodating.

If you are looking for something near the Castle and the Altstadt this is a great option. Friendly staff, nice rooms, great location and parking options.

The terrace is very relaxing with the view of the castle 😊 Breakfast was nice, and the walk around the castle grounds was beautiful.

It was right next to the funicular and super close to the town's main streets. The breakfast could have had more options and more cut up fresh fruit. Otherwise a very pleasant stay!

Can not get closer to castle!
The hotel is perfectly located right under the castle and conveniently close to everything. It is small like real European places. The staff was helpful and kind and the breakfast buffet was well stock, no one leave hungry. Would book again if I ever come back to Heidelberg.

Booked the 2 bedroom apartment. Was more like 2 separate rooms connected by a hallway. Bathrooms were small. Veranda was actually a common area. Rooms were hot with only a small fan. Based on the photos, I thought I was getting something much nicer. On a good note, the location was tremendous, and the customer service was excellent!

Just down the hill from the castle, the ride up to the castle is just outside the elevator, and just a couple blocks from the main walking area. Nice, comfortable room, very peaceful!

Unforgettable stay at this hotel in Heidelberg. I cannot rave about this place enough! Such a charming, homey room and the breakfast and service was lovely. Every staff member I came into contact with made me feel so welcome and I will always remember them. Room has everything you need and mine had a beautiful view of the city. It’s not fancy but it’s the perfect place if you want to be central to the old town!

Our family had a great stay at the Hotel am Schloss. The 2 queen bedrooms opened onto a private balcony that had an incredible view over all of Heidelberg. It was perfect and we enjoyed wine and cheese on the patio one lovely evening. The room was clean and roomy which was what we were looking for. Although it was dated and needed some maintenance it didn't bother us. The location is perfect for walking everywhere and felt very safe and comfortable. The only disappointing part was the breakfast. We gave a time for breakfast of 9 am the day before and when we came down at 9 there were no tables available. We were told to come back in 15-30 mins and came back at 9:30 and still had to wait. The breakfast area is too small and cannot accommodate all the guests. I am sure this is hard for a hotel to plan but maybe some warning that sometimes there is a wait and then we probably would have taken an earlier time.

The hotel rooms were spacious with great views. All was clean and breakfast was delicious. Very nice staff. Best of all is the convenient location to the Old City of Heidelberg.

Highly recommend the hotel. Location is perfect in the old town right at the base of the castle. Parking is in the building and they gave us a voucher for half price. Breakfast was good. Our rooms had a private patio which was amazing

Best Hotel in Heidelberg!
Wow! - Amazing Town Centre location but with the bonus of onsite parking as the hotel sits on top of a car park (10 euros per night). Just a stones throw from the old town centre / bridge and with views of the castle. Choose the double rooms with terrace or mini suite for best castle glimpses. Staff were amazing and friendly and breakfast was fantastic too. Rooms can get a little hot but fans are supplied. A really great experience and beats dragging your suitcase through the town to reach other hotels this close to the centre. Highly Recommended!

The people that run this hotel maybe the nicest people on earth. I should have came to Germany earlier. The location is excellent, the views are incredible. We can’t wait to come back again.
