This B&B was clean, quiet and very comfortable with easy access to Volcanoes National Park. The innkeeper, Gary, was a great host who provided an outstanding breakfast environment and information for travelers.

Very peaceful BnB hotel). About 3-4 miles from the Volcano city center and the park. Surrounded by tropical vegetation and a wrap around deck to enjoy the peace. Cold cereals and coffee etc. available. No services and except for a brief interaction with the caretaker (?) on the logistics, no other human interactions. Great for getting away from the city hubbub, but not so great if you feel hungry and need quick gratification.

"Great place to spend your vacation of a lifetime."
We love this stylish hotel with it's excellent facilities, beautifully designed and well kept grounds, comfortable rooms, location, small but idyllic beach and friendly, helpful staff. This hotel has a character of it's own. We visited other hotels on the island during our stay, but few had the "atmosphere" of the Fairmont Orchid.
Be aware that the food and beverages can be expensive if you are staying on site for your visit. Price should not be taken as a guide to quality since not all of the on site eating facilities offer value for money. Brown's Beach House restaurant serves excellent food and is well worth the visit for an evening dinner. The atmosphere, quality of food and service was outstanding. We had probably the best meal of our vacation there, but again be prepared that this standard comes with a price. That said, most decent restaurants on the island are expensive.
Unfortunately the hotel also seems to be a favorite with a number of large corporations for company events. The hotel staff did an excellent job of keeping the inconvenience caused by organized company events to a minimum for other hotel guests. The same cannot always be said for some of the company visitors who are determined to "party hard", although to be fair there were only isolated instances that caused any disturbance during our wonderful stay. There is little the hotel can do about this, but you might want to ask "who is in town?"
We live in Mt.View and retreat to these condos for rest and relaxation. It is also near to Hapuna Beach, our favorite. We have been here several times and will return again. Just got back from two nights there. They always accommodate special needs. Also, love the wild turkeys and the Nene geese on the property. We always try to have dinner at our favorite restaurant, the Coast Grill in the Hapuna Beach Hotel, which is not too far away. Really love the Paniolo Greens.
