Great cottage in the country
Lovely friendly hosts made sure our stay was great. Loved all the artwork on display in the cottage. If you are wanting a peaceful quiet time away this is the place. Would definitely come back

One night stay
The room was lovely and the outside area was nice and quite. The single bed was too low for me as I have problems with my knees, but my friend and I swatted beds which was not the best for us as she is older than I, but can get up easer. Other than that the manager was the best and helped as much as she could.

Delightful Garden Cottage
This spacious 1-bedroom cottage did not disappoint. Comfortable, well-appointed and decorated with original artworks. Beautiful garden setting in a convenient Kapiti location.

You would need a vehicle to explore area.
Cutlery and crockery supplied but no table and chairs to dine at and no washing up facility. Found beds too low.

Libby and her friend struggled using the booking AP and they obviously did not read the list of amenities. I do not offer a full kitchen. There is a small bar fridge and a basic kitchenette. The beds are of normal height. These mature women were quite honestly my messiest guests to date. Book a Bach and Airbnb guidelines states “leave the cottage as it was when you arrived”. They rearranged the furniture, and wore their shoes in the cottage, soiling the carpet. They also left all the dishes for me to clean up.

Unwind and soak
Lovely little place. Quiet and clean - perfect for a weekend escape from the kids. If the weather allows, we totally recommend asking your fabulous hosts to set up the outdoor bath tub for you in the evening. Our candlelight soak next to a crackling bon fire, listening to ruru and pukeko calling on a still night was wonderful!

Not a ‘cottage house’ as described.
The description as a cottage house is extremely misleading. A house has all you need, there was no kitchen, no laundry. Pitiful ‘kitchenette’ had no teaspoons, one soup spoon for us to share to eat our breakfast, plunger coffee, no plunger, no instant coffee as an alternative, no milk. Watch out for the fridge, it will tip off it’s tiny shelf as you open the door. No dining table or chairs. Garden quite unkempt now, not like photos. It’s better described as a 2 room sleepout with ensuite, kettle and toaster.

Hi Nicola, I am sorry to read your review but if you had clearly read the listing you would have known the cooking facilities were limited. The kitchenette is not quite as sparse as you suggest as we do offer a small bar fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, plunger and a selection of both tea and coffee. Oh and the dawn chorus is pretty amazing too, if your into that stuff.

We enjoyed our stay. The bach was clean, the setting nice and we enjoyed the outdoor bath. There was tea and coffee but no milk and no sharp knife. I would suggest a bit more thought be given to this as there's no kitchen.

Lovely quiet spot in rural area with visiting chooks. Kim's encaustic studio on spot great to visit with glorious bees wax smell! A curtain in lounge/ single bed area would be great.

There are only 2 beds in the Cottage. I am not sure why you state there are 3 and I am correcting your post as I wouldn’t want anyone mislead by reading your review. The single bed is x-large and sized 97cmx203 which has been suitable for children of any age and most average sized adults. Thanks for your stay and leaving the suite sparking clean.

Thank you Kim and Nigel for providing an amazing little Bach for a good nights rest. Was ideal indeed as local to the venue I attended and way better than a motel in the main centre. Awesome as quite and easy to find country setting. Would definitely recommend making the Time to view Kims gallery as I wish I had :)

Hi Deb, there were fresh grey and white towels placed on the bed. I saw that they were moved to the desk when I cleaned the room. Anyways, that aside I am glad you enjoyed your stay. Next time don’t be afraid to just shout out if you need something.

So disappointing. Not sure how previous reviewers can have rated so high. Missing the basics (no toilet paper, bath mat, toaster, milk, WiFi instructions), poor privacy from main house, general fit out seemed cheap, certainly could never be described as luxurious. Description on Expedia is misleading (near the sea/river!?????) and the picture on-line is of the owners house (with a glimpse of the cottage to the far right not the idyllic country retreat you might wish), and I’m no prude but please fix the very poor grammar and spelling in the description on Expedia!!!!If this was a motel it would struggle to make 2 star. Garden was nothing special mostly lawn and trees. There just seemed to be a lack of care and awareness of what most travelers expect these days. Certainly quiet and ‘in the country’ but that is another reason why having the basics to make a good coffee or a piece of toast are more necessary.Very very disappointing when just a little bit more effort and attention to detail could lift it significantly.

Winter getaway
Rural outlook, clean and warm, lovely garden area. Be prepared for the crowing of the rooster. Ideal for a short stay, we were attending the Ruth pretty cooking school, which was very close by.

A Place in the Country
I stayed here on my wedding night and it was a charming and quiet little flat. It was tidy and had plenty of room for us to put our bags. It would’ve been great to have had a little fridge, but we made do with what we had. We’d love to come back again :)

Goats and all!
A very comfortable cottage with a fabulous shower, but even better, an out door bath and a bonfire, all set in a large garden with a series of garden rooms. Nigel was an excellent host and the lemons he picked for me are the best I have ever tasted!!! An outstanding experience and plenty to tell my friends! Totally recommended!
