The Capitol Hotel

"After I paid for a none refundable reservation for a room. My wife checked out reviews, she does this when we travel. When she showed me the negative reviews she found, I became concerned since I could not get my money back. Well as it turns out my worries we not necessary. We travel often and have experienced both good and bad hotel experiences, The Capitol Hotel is a very respectable recommendable business. Everything met our usual expectations. It will be where we stay whenever we go to Hartford. From room cleanliness, to great shower water pressure, to great friendly customer service, and very good breakfast included in the room cost. Five stars all the way."

"Building is out dated. Beds are not comfortable. Room was not very clean. And smelled weird. Had 10 mins to check room if I wanted a refund. Was too late."

"Cons: Sketchy neighborhood. Sketchy people drinking in the parking lot at 3pm on a Tuesday. Poor breakfast. Dimly lit hallways. Pros: Room was reasonable, but nothing special. Good water pressure."

"We were very disappointed with this home. It was 51' degrees for several days with the air on and no heat. We couldn't adjust the heat. Water stains in the ceiling. 1 face towel for 3 people, we went to Walmart to purchase some for out stay. The back door vertical had slacks missing. To fix that we bought a sheet to put up so we could sit in the kitchen without other being able to see us. The living room blinds had a couple broken pieces. I would not recommend the home and would never go back. The kitchen cabinets and microwave are very high up, if you are not that tall you will barely reach. Don't rent this property, they need to do better."

"Tax was a great hostess. She was very easy to communicate with and did her level best to address a hot water issue which did not affect our stay. Parking was tight on property but there is on street free on weekends. Neighborhood is up and coming. Thank you!"
Exquisite Downtown Loft Apartment

"I’m not quite sure how to leave an accurate review for this. The apartment itself was exactly as pictured - clean and spacious. However the area is terrible. We got little to no sleep as we listened to screaming all night and moaning from drug addicts outside. Our last night there we had to all but step over someone who was passed out on the steps of the building. The building smelled so bad of marijuana that our small children were legitimately scared of what it would do to them. Also the house is spacious and slept our party of 6 without issue. However there is only one parking spot available for this residence which meant someone had to park on the street of a very sketchy area. Like I stated, our host was great. Communicated effectively and was accommodating with shifting the dates of our stay. But the area really put a damper on our stay."
