The hotel is deep in the Hakone region, which we thought would be inconvenient. However, there was a bus stop right outside, a convenience store next door, and super quiet at night. It was wonderful. The staff were very friendly, and the hotel only has a couple dozen rooms so it feels very home-y.
The private onsen was wonderful. We had 4 baths in 2 and a half days! The room was very clean and we were provided with yukatas for lounging and to walk to the hotel shared baths. We also could go to the dinner hall in them which was convenient. Expect traditional Japanese meals which were very filling!
Overall 10/10, would recommend.
