From start to finish our stay at Westerwood was a sheer delight. Our room was clean and very comfortable, and was cleaned and tidied every day. The staff were exemplary in their courtesy and professionalism - very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast buffet was huge - loads of choice (including haggis, which I had every morning!), with the hot selection all freshly cooked and monitored so that there was always plenty. Dining in the restaurant was exquisite - gorgeous food and again, excellent service.
The spa is great too, swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, all included in the room price, and lots of treatments on offer at very reasonable charges.
All in all a lovely, peaceful, and friendly place to spend a long weekend break - and we really can't wait to go back next year for a week's holiday.
This stay was a birthday treat for my hard working partner but was just as much a treat for me. The facilities were excellent and the staff were all friendly and courteous. The swimming pool is the best I have been in and rekindling our game of table tennis was an unexpected bonus. The local walking is excellent with splendid views and there is a fine choice of local hostelries.
Stayed here many times and have always found it very comfortable.
Rooms are basic but comfortable and always clean.
Breakfast is always well stocked and includes cereal, rolls , cooked sausages scrambled egg beans etc
Overall very good
We stayed at this hostel overnight on route to The Highlands. It was easy to find, not far from the motorway, and the parking situation was fine.
This was our first experience of a Hostel and we were very pleasantly surprised. There was a wide range of people staying, varying in age & Nationalities.
We had a private room, with bunk beds, with our own bathroom. There was a TV, A/C, a good view, and good quality curtains. All for £28 in total!
We were knackered so didn't venture out into Glasgow, instead staying in the bar downstairs and taking advantage of the 2 meals and a drink each for £10 in total. The cheese & bacon burgers were hearty and filled a gap.
We both paid £4 the night before and indulged in the all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast. This was more than satisfactory, with a good range of hot & cold items, and friendly staff around should you have any requirements.
All in all, we were extremely happy with our stay and would definitely return.
