"This is such a wonderful little place to stay in Escalante. Every little detail has been considered in making a guest’s stay comfortable. From the doggie treats and bowls, mini first aid kit and throw blankets on the outdoor rocking chairs…I could go on and on. It’s obvious a lot of time and dedication has gone into this place. Such attention to detail was much appreciated by us, and I can’t recommend this little place of solitude more to the passing traveler."

"Room and bed were very comfortable. Great room was nice extension for small room. Reservation was a bit confusing working around a workshop. When I arrived reception said they were closed. Showed them my Expedia res and they moved me to another location. Was just glad to have room somewhere that first night. After driving all day I was a bit disappointed to have to find food and drive some more. After a break of several days, came back for 3 nights at the lodge and that was very nice."

My one recommendation to Tom the innkeeper, is that the in-room document with rules and regulations, while clearly born from his frustration with past irresponsible guests, is, in tone, more than a little unfriendly and sets a negative tone. There could certainly better ways to phrase the issues without alientating the customers."
