We liked the uniqueness and convenience of the property. The staff was responsive. Check in was so easy. Loved it. I can't wait for the renovations in the grille. That would have been awesome to eat at the historic location too.

This is a great location if you are coming to Grafton. It’s going through renovations so it is not a five star hotel - but it is clean and quiet.

Fair pricing. Only real disappointment was the pub not being open. Was looking forward to easy access to some drinks and food. Besides that. The atmosphere was clean. A bit outdated. But I kind of expected that. The owner/host was very accommodating with check in time. Would go again if I was in town.

It was a strange experience, since the parking lot was completely empty. The "Hunters Grill" is closed for renovations and it seems to heve been closed for a while. The other businesses in the building were also closed for the day at 5:15 pm on a Friday. However, I had received a friendly, timely text to find my key in the lock box and get into my room. The room was simple, neat, clean, and reasonably comfortable. Heat and hot water worked well. Goid wifi. Minor complaints: confusing TV apparatus with 2 remotes, no instructions, and no washcloths in the bathroom. Mini fridge is a nice convenience.

The property looks a bit rundown, but everything worked well and our room was generally clean and comfortable. A new bathmat and a microwave in the room or another way to heat water for tea and coffee (we didn't trust the Keurig in the hall) would have improved the experience, but we did enjoy our stay and would stay again in the future.

Avoid this Inn. I was informed in a text that I had been upgraded to a deluxe room which made me wonder what the previous room had been like. From the unattended, small, and unwelcoming entry area to the mold on the bathroom ceiling, the sparse lighting in the room, the mismatched furniture, and the poorly lit hallway, the Grafton Inn seemed like a movie setting and not in a good way. There was toothpaste residue in the bathroom sink. The closet had 2 wire hangers and one metal and rubber one. Though I was sent a text showing me where the key lockbox was and the code, I wasn’t told that you had to push 2 switches simultaneously to open the box. Someone finally appeared to help after I phoned. On the positive side, the room was large, and quiet with a very comfortable bed and it had a nice view of the common. The water became hot quickly in the shower. Overall, very disappointing and it reminded me of student hostels. The restaurant is still “closed for reservations.”

This is a beautiful old in that needs lots of love. Needs a full renovation. There was no one to greet us and our room had not been cleaned. The grill is closed for renovations. Hopefully the same is coming for the hotel.

Very accommodating!
Grafton inn was very accommodating at a time when we really needed it! We needed to be out of our place for a deleading project with our cats!! They let us bring our cats and let us check in as early as possible. On the last day we were told we could go into our house until 4! When I asked if we could stay a little longer, they said it was no problem and didn’t even charge us extra! We will definitely be keeping them in mind for next time! Some tips about the room: The bed was comfortable. It has a mini fridge. Bring your own shower supplies. And only get take out that you are ok eating cold because there’s no microwave. Overall a great stay!

I was a solo woman traveler, and I stayed at this property for one night. The room was clean and the host was very responsive. The location was loud because of traffic but I felt safe there. The restaurant was closed for renovations so I had to eat dinner off site but renovations are good for any business. I was looking forward to eating dinner at the hotel and will do so if I return to that location.

I used to live in 2 Grafton Common, just across from the Inn 25 years back and I knew the Inn's location. It was a historical building, nice, lot of modern amenities yet in old style which I personally like. Clean and comfortable bed, spacious room, bathroom is ok. Appreciate the fridge and hair dryer. The only thing is that I spent 1 night there in the beginning of October and there was no room heater. It was not super-cold but as I went there from Arizona, to me it was cold. I noticed it in night but didn't call the host for it as it was not terrible cold or freezing. But my suggestion would be to put a room heater. The tea-coffee arrangement is nice. Finally I must appreciate the host's nice communication and appreciate that he did let me do early check-in. Grafton is a quaint small town with lots of trees in Common across from the Inn and I enjoyed it immensely.

A neat property, an old building with character. The floors were uneven like an old 19th century inn. The room was comfortable a good bathroom. It was quiet, we might have been the only ones there. A nice setting in the town square. The pub was closed for renovations but a nice bar about a mile or so up the road. I would stay there again.

I feel bad to give this review, because it was only $126 for the night….but this property is in desperate need of a redo and a cleaning and replacement of a lot of the inside decor such as carpet and new paint. It is scary and the locks on my door was barely a lock….. I had bad dreams of being violently raped ! The worst part tho was the putrid smell. It was a mix between some kind of chemical agent and just gross. I imagine the carpets need to be ripped up and replaced with flooring and it needs a good coat of paint and several upgrades. It’s a gorgeous old historical building. Please give it some love.

I chose this facility sight unseen because it was the cheapest around. Now I understand why. Upon arrival, the front entrance was locked, the rear entrance was open, but only to a bar and grille that was completely gutted and closed for renovations. Upon calling their number, a caretaker/manager told me he'd be right there. To his credit, he was prompt, friendly, and helpful. He gave me a key, showed me to the room, and left me there. Upon checking out, there was no one around, so I just left me key in the room. The room was very sparsely furnished, but clean. If you are looking for a simple place to crash for a night, this place might be acceptable. If you're looking for a pleasant and enjoyable experience, be willing to spend a bit more and go elsewhere.

The building is a genuine element of local history. Bedding and linens were clean. Hot water was plentiful. The room was shabbily fixtured and furnished but appeared to have been cleaned. The air quality in the stairway and hallway was poor. The room air quality was improved by keeping a window opened. The staffing is "virtual" with room key dispensed in a rotated drop box. The first floor bar/grill lounge had been gutted but there was no apparent construction activity. There was no ready observation of illegal access or activity but the feel of the property was not secure.

Bathroom was clean and best feature of the room, but the shag rug needs to go. Instructions for the coffee machine in hall would be helpful.-- Choose size, press K-cup.

Restoration in progress. Room was OK for one night but not something I'd recommend for an extended stay. Bed was way too soft and swallowed up your entire torso. No one to check in with but the key location was texted and entry was easy. The hallways had an odor to them but the room did not.

This property was recently sold. Unfortunately, The Hunters Grill &Tap is closed and under construction. We arrived 8pm, ended up at the gas station within walking distance for food. I received a text inquiring our arrival, provided a lockbox code for the room key. We never saw anyone employed or staying the entire time we were there. There were maybe 5 vehicles and a motorcycle in the parking lot. Pleased to find an operating elevator in this historic Inn. The room was basic and had three outlets, all but 1 plug was used. One of the two lamps was missing a bulb, and both lamps were wobbling. Husband uses a Cpap machine, we had to unplug one lamp from behind the bed. Bed is extremely soft foam mattress, not sure if they have firmer beds available. No overhead lights. A mini fridge is plugged into a far corner of the room, the fridge door is hard to open due to the carpet on the floor. There is a flatscreen TV with cable, placed next to the nonfunctional fireplace, in front of the window air conditioner, on top of a side table, facing the side of the bed. A wooden dresser and a closet with an iron & ironing board are in the room. I used the ironing board for a luggage rack. The bathroom is a tub/shower combination. Soap, shampoo, cream rinse for one person, a hairdryer. Extra towels inside the wooden dresser. Coffee was set up in the hallway. Place was very quiet, felt like we were the only people there. Grafton is extremely quiet and safe.

They forgot to inform us that since the place was under renovations that there would be no one to check us in and that the key to room would be in lock box. Rooms were ok, but hallways smell from mold. The place is a nice old building that if fixed up properly could be very nice. Hopefully they do that.
