"This hotel was awesome. We were only here one night on a trip through the Black Forest, but it was great. It's cute and quaint and quiet. The dinner in the hotel is truly one of the best I have ever had and I've traveled a lot of Europe. The menu is set, but I ate many things I wouldn't normally and loved every one of them. "The room was spacious and comfortable, but certainly not worth the price nor rating of a 4.5 star hotel. Hotels.com boasted "4 restaurants" while in actuality there was only one restaurant with 4 different sitting areas with the same menu and you could not choose in which area you wished to sit. The older staff was also not at all friendly and acted a bit annoyed with every question or request. There were also loud noises with the creaking of the wood steps and hallways."

"Likely one of the best hidden gems in Germany. Exceptional staff and location resulted in a restful and rejuvenating stay. The meals were delicious and prepared with local fresh ingredients. The access to the Black Forest is literally steps away; be it hiking or biking. Few suggestions, 1) book a room on the lake side as the road is a bit loud at night and 2) bring a pillow as the ones provided are very German. 10/10 and will return!"
