A great property to stay at, conveniently located a few hundred metres from the main street and close to the attractions. The room was very clean and comfortable and had all the amenities that you could need. The staff were friendly and obliging. Will stay there again if in the area

A good rest stop. Facility is a bit dated but amenities were in good working conditions. Just that the wifi signal is very weak most of the time. Nice mountain view.

Pretty spot with restaurant two doors down (need to book even though it says bookings not accepted). Really nice pub up the road and only a few minutes drive to Lake Matheson.

Great, friendly owner. Fantastic motel.
Owner, Andy,was so helpful after we had a passport issue at previous motel which was proving very unhelpful with our issue. He arranged for a friend to go pick up passport and send it on to our next motel thus saving us the hassle of an eight hour return trip, ensuring our holiday could continue as planned. He was friendly and helpful from the moment we checked in. Apart from his help the motel is also excellent: spacious rooms, excellent facilities and cracking views from the patio. Also very close to restaurants/bars and Fox Glacier. Cannot recommend Andy and the Rainforest Motel highly enough. Ian

The owner was very friendly and helpful The property has lovely grounds Easy parking Room was very clean, comfortable and well equipped with what we needed. Comfortable bed Shampoo and conditioner supplied. Dinner recommendation was excellent

Great location for Matheson lake and views of the glacier. Well-equipped rooms - the first on my trip to provide non-stick pan so I could enjoy fried eggs for breakfast.

Mathew was awesome to deal with. He called to alert us the highway was closed due to heavy rain and surface flooding and shifted our booking to the next night for no additional fee. The room was very clean and the bed super comfortable. An excellent place to stay in Fox. His dog Stella was very friendly and our dog enjoyed meeting her. Next time we're in the area we will definitely stay here again. AAA

Friendly and helpful staff. Gave us a map of nearby attractions & shops, and recommended us the best time to visit Lake Matheson so we could get a nice reflection view of the mountains. Room was clean and spacious. Basic amenities available. There is a laundry room avaible too, costing NZD 2 each to use the washing machine and dryer. Satisfied with our stay here.

The service provided was outstanding, including the manager/owner taking time out from his busy day to advise me of the best options to eat, walk the dog, and local sites to see. I found the Motel to be a wonderful site for reflection and the setting is very powerful in nature. I would recommend to anyone as a great place to refresh the mind. I will be revisiting with family soon.

Convenient and cozy
This is a very convenient location, literally 2 mins from the little township and about a minute from the nearest restaurant. In addition, the views from just outside the room/cabin is spectacular, with the snow capped mountains on display. The rooms are neat, warm (it was the height of winter) and have all the conveniences required. The guy running the place was friendly, informative and down to earth - even has a dog to play with. Close to the natural beauty of Lake Mathsone, which is just another reason to visit.
