I stayed here several times in the past. This time was the worst experience ever. I made my reservation last fall and they discarded it to make more money on the rooms for the eclipse. I will never stay here again. So disappointing. The place has dropped in quality and really has gone downhill.

Not so Quality Inn
Hotel is neglected-needs maintenance. Piles and piles and piles of cigarette butts around all entrances. Shower didn’t drain, keys don’t work, AC sketchy. Breakfast is nothing but bagels and yogurt. Most supplies at breakfast were empty. Waffles empty. Creamers empty. Milk empty. Save your money and go across the street to the Express Inn. 1/3 the price and about equal in quality.

We were told we had to pay $30 extra for our dog and reminded that we were in a non smoking room however, the room reaked of smoke. Quite irritating to pay what we paid for a stinky room.

The lady working the desk was super nice, despite chatting with her phone on speakerphone… First room I was given… I walked in and it was never cleaned. Bed not made, cups sitting around, dirty towels. At least no one was in it! The lady working the desk apologize (and her mom chimed in on the speakerphone… it was funny, but maybe not professional). 😬 Second try… room was better, but could have had better detail for cleaning. Faucet still will toothpaste splatter, hairs in the sink and splatter spots on the nightstand. The bed was clean and the bathroom was as well. Certainly not the worst hotel I’ve stayed in, but could use some more attention to detail. Hotel is older, has received a general facelift (paint, finishes). Some areas still smell of smoke odor and just the smells that come with an older facility. I’d give it a 2.8/5. I’d give it another shot if I was in the area for work again.

Even though the property is being renovated, it was clean and comfortable. Standards are being kept up even through the renovations. We are at Stouts last night which was recommended and turned out to be a very popular Irish pub. Great food and local beers. We highly recommend the hotel.

Housekeeping is non-existent. I don't think it would destroy their bottom line to, at the very least purchase a new shower curtain. No elevator, no business center.

If you value breathing, this is not the place
This is a refurbished old hotel. Apparently only window dressing because nothing was done to remediate the pervasive stench of years of stale tobacco smoke. If I could have found other lodging in the area I would have moved. The bathroom was ridiculously small. One would have to be a contortionist to reach the toilet paper while seated. The bathroom door did not latch. The sink & vanity were located across from the bathroom, more or less in the entry way. The tub/shower is cramped for anyone over 130 lbs. Noisy air conditioner. Kid sized pillows. Strange repetitive, vibrating noise in the middle of the night. The mattress was good. It was WAY overpriced! Would NEVER stay there again.

Beware.
All night party in the parking lot for homeless friends of the hotel staff. Hotel staff would not answer the front desk phone. Empty rooms were left propped open for friends to come and go as they pleased. People attempted multiple times during the night to enter my room. Building smells and shower was not clean. Trash in common areas were overflowing.

While checkin was ok, and staff friendly, the issues were really with the room. There was a strong dank odor in the room, that reminded me of a cat litter box. The room appeared clean though. The shower control was broken (knob on the control fell off, and the timer switch for the heat lamp didn't work. The rug needs a good cleaning, my white socks became dirty after walking in the room for awhile. Staff did not attend to the breakfast area. I had to ask for coffee, since all 3 pots were empty. The pool area looked clean, and most other areas of the hotel seemed clean as well.

The bathroom had hairs in it, and overall the room was a C- clean. The place smelled of smoke throughout, tho there were 'non-smoking' signs throughout. The breakfast was awful. I realize it is a time coming out of Covid.....but they shouldn't advertise they even offer one. Cereal, milk, decent coffee, boiled eggs and OJ would have sufficed and were not offered. We went out to eat.

We are grateful that we could check in at 2 PM, with a room change, because of a commitment at 3:30 PM a ways away. That gave us time to freshen up and rest a bit from a late arrival the night before. Thank you Quality Inn!

I checked in and the agent at the desk took a copy of my dr license and credit card. I told him it was already paid on my debit card. He then charged me again this time for $73.10. When I checked out I was told there was nothing they could do for me paying double.

Room was not very clean. Cob webs from ceiling and glass patio door (jacuzzi room) was smeared with finger prints and had old popsicle stick in it. This room was very roomy. Coffee maker missing parts so could not make coffee. All staff I communicated with on site were pleasant.

Clean room, quiet night, friendly and helpful desk clerk made it just right. I'm one of those simple-needs people. I didn't use the pool, but it sure looked inviting. Paid via PayPall through Hotels.com and the hotel insisted we pay with another card because PayPal waS declined. I showed them the reservation confirmation saying paid in full and even pulled up my PayPal account and showed them the charge to my account. They told me that I should have called Choice Hotel in Decatur, Indiana only because they have nothing to do with Hotels.com and even said others customers have had the same problem. I paid twice and this is FRAUD

My wife and I were traveling to visit our kids in Michigan and this was the perfect stop off point. Staff was very friendly and our room was clean and ready when we got there. Check-in was really easy. Nice breakfast and super easy check-out. We will definitely stay here again when in the area.
