The Hotel is well located but the building itself is old and in poorly conditions... my room was spacious but the decoration is ald fashion... the breakfast menu very limited

Property was very nice. However, the wall paper was peeling on certain areas on the wall. Breakfast setting was very nice. Room was spacious.

Great hotel, good position 10-12 minute walk from the center. Room was lovely and clean and the hotel itself had a lovely feel to it. Good breakfast and great staff.

We stayed at this hotel two years ago and we loved it that’s why we returned to stay again. Very helpful staff and friendly. The hotel is within walking distance from the train station which was convenient for us. Also walking distance to the centre.

Good location. Looks nice. Room nice. When you advertise air conditioning, it should work. Brutal. No offer of compensation. Hey, free breakfast for the inconvenience. Nope. Nothing. Very nice. Would have been 5 stars with WORKING AC.

Easy walk to river and centre of the city. Located on a quiet street away from alot of noise. Carpets and paintwork a bit shabby but generally a good place to relax.

The hotel check in was good and Elizabeth on reception very pleasant. - [ ] The room was on the ground floor on street level and it was fine, a good size with a huge comfy bed. It was clean with nice bed linen. It was a bit dark in there and the air conditioning didn’t work. We never complained and just opened a window instead, but the odd car whizzing past in the early hours did disturb us.The bathroom was good, and a good shower too and the whole room very “Italian” like. Breakfast was good with a good selection of fruits, drinks and the best croissants I’ve ever had. They had bacon, sausage and scrambled egg too. The hotel location was good about 15 minutes from the train station and the same to walk to the Ul Duomo so a great location. Overall the hotel was okay and I’d rate it at 7.5 out of 10 and would recommend it to friends.

Our stay was wonderful. The staff were very nice and helpful. The facilities were great however, the room itself was lacking in natural light since it overlooked an interior courtyard. Otherwise, it was great and met our needs. The location of the hotel is outstanding.

Location was just OK. Hotel is not in good condition. Common areas were good but the room was not. Carpet and general apperance was not good, including the heating system.

This hotel was lovely, a little out of town but very close to the river and only really a 15 min walk into the main part of town. It is 10/15 mins walk from the station but does seem longer if you have cases so might be worthwhile taking a taxi for this stretch of your journey.

Excellent customer experience in a fine, nostalgic building close to the Arno and Parco delle Cascine and easy walking distance to the city centre. Excellent, spacious, well-equipped rooms and a top-rate breakfast served in a wonderful restaurant. Great staff!

Quiet area, walking distance to central Florence, laundromat and restaurants. Beautiful place to stay. Only disappointing thing was the “free” WiFi - dropped out more than stayed connected though they do offer a premium internet at a cost.

The worst hotel ever
This is by far the worst hotel I've stayed in. The rooms are awful, filthy and no overhead shower only a hand help one, you literally have to hold the hand held shower as there is no hook for it. The staff are unhelpful and defensive. On the first night we changed rooms as the room given to us was disgusting, on the second night we discovered the air con didn't work the hotel said they can move us again to which I declined as we had an early morning tour booked and we had unpacked again. It is not OK to have 3 rooms for a 4 night stay! On the final night we had opened the window to let some fresh air in as the air con was not fixed, little did I know I was going to e attacked in my sleep by mosquitos. I have over 40 bites, 11 of which are on my face and have had to take medication for these as they are very raised, red and sore. If the hotel had fixed the air con then I would not be sitting here looking like I have chicken pox. I confronted the reception staff about his and they said I should have asked for a mosquito plug in, like I knew I was going to be attacked in my sleep! They also said the air con was working... I can 110% say the air con was NOT working. Over all this hotel is not a 4* and needs to go under review!

Great location and all staff very helpful. First nights room was beat up and very noisy due to the neighbors. Hotel accommodated moving to a quieter room and everything was excellent from the morning breakfast to the cleanliness of the room. Location is close to train and bus terminal and easy walking distance to main shopping area

Hotel with Character.
Old style hotel with charm to match, rare to find a Hotel with a lot of it's original characteristics still in position in this day and age of little boxes. Desk staff were extremely helpful booking tables for 18 on the Sunday night at a nearby restaurant ,and on following night too, wouldn't have got a place to eat for all of us without efforts of desk staff for so big a party, food was excellent too. A 15 minute amble to The Ponte de Vecchio bridge and the inner city, so not too strenous a stroll, felt that the AngloAmerican was well situated, desk staff arranged taxis for us without any problems. Breakfast was there if you needed it, I just had coffee & croissant in morning which was fine for me. Rooms were clean and tidy and Bathroom was nice. Tolstoy had once stayed here .

Room needs work to be 4 star.
Reception, bar and restaurant areas were top class but the room was shabby and needed painting. A lovely big bedroom but lacking in furniture and design finishes. The shower was poor, the hand-held version being the only option. The staff were excellent but the room didn't live up to the promise of the 4 stars..

Nice hotel, close to Florence train station, and to several cafes and restaurants. Room air conditioner was the only bit of a frustration. The controls did not seem to change the setting.
