I’ve stayed at Hotel Spadai 5 times in the last 7 years…and while the location and the quality of the hotel is still primo…unfortunately I was disappointed in the service and feel it has slipped a bit. (Except for the bartenders in the lobby bar who were fabulous and friendly!) Upon check-in the ladies at the front desk were cold and unwelcoming to my friends and I, which is the exact opposite of my experiences in years past. While we didn’t have a lot of luggage no one offered to help us with it. When we checked out they asked if we wanted a taxi and were supposed to book us one, we waited until the agreed upon time and there was no taxi to be seen. We went back to ask the desk and the lady said there was no taxi for us which then in turn made us run down to a taxi line, (luggage in tow) and by the time we got one ourselves we ended up missing our pre-booked & paid transit. The hotel is nice, great location, comfortable, safe, & food is great…but unfortunately, I feel as though the service has slipped and needs some attention. I seldom leave reviews as I’m also in the hospitality industry owning a restaurant & cafe…but decided to leave this review so they can get their service back on track because the hotel really is a gem in Firenze & believe these are easy fixes.
