The hosts were very friendly. I was only in the city for two nights but my host took the time to map out all the major attractions in the city, some that were away from the city center and gave me the best recommendations for where to eat(where the locals eat). Great experience!

Just beautiful, a historic Firenze hotel. The hosts could not have been kinder. The room and bath were clean and spacious. Located in a nice area for walking about getting a meal. I highly recommend Hotel Cestelli!

For a 1-star hotel, I believe we received great value. The caretakers Allesendro and Asumi were top-notch welcoming and friendly. No TV in room but gives one more incentive to go outside and take in the vibes of Firenze. Our room was very clean, no air conditioning but the little electric fan seemed to do the trick. Overall, I was very pleased. Thank you Alessandro and Asumi for making our stay and experience possible.

This is the place to stay for budget travellers in Florence. For a budget option, you couldn’t ask for a better location, very clean, safe, and incredibly kind and helpful owners!

Location is a gorgeous early medieval building in walking distance from much of Florence's most popular attractions such as the Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery. Staff were approachable, easy to talk with and courteous, even lending me a hand when my flight got cancelled.

Good value, clean & perfect location
I booked a single room with shared bathroom. The hosts were very kind and informative. Nothing was too much trouble and plenty of good advice about the local area. Yes, it isn’t great sharing Bathroom facilities and the water pressure isn’t the best for taking a shower. But all in all, taking into account the class of Hotel, the friendliness of the hosts and the cleanliness of the facilities I would definitely consider booking again. The location is perfect for the surrounding area.

Amazing querky hotel in perfect location. Could have done with air conditioning rather than fan for hot June nights but other than that can not fault anything.

Great hotel, very clean and a beautiful room. Felt very authentically Italian and exactly the right place to experience Florence properly. Perfect location for train station and anything you'd want to see. Wi-Fi wasn't very good.

Overall a great experience and very close to lots of good attractions in the city. The room was spacious and clean. The furniture was nice as well. The lady at the desk was very nice and helpful. Great experience at a great location!

Great place, incredible location.
Very nice place and hosts. The location is incredible. Only down point for me is the shared bathroom, was my first experience with such a place and I must say I very much prefer having my own private one!

Very nice staff. The room was comfortable even when the bathroom is shared. They kept it clean. Also, the location is ideal!! You can walk to restaurants and to the main attractions very easily.

Welcoming, warm and clean!
I found Hotel Cestelli, Alessio and Asumi to be warm and welcoming. Perfect location and inexpensive for my short stay in Florence. They were helpful and friendly, ran their hotel professionally and I would recommend it to any friends or travelers looking for a great find. The shared bathroom. down the hall was kept spotless and was a lot "easier" to manage than I thought. This is a good spot if you plan to be out and about in the city.

Clean Hotel, Good Location, Wonderful Hosts
Our room was huge, with an in-room sink and bidet (bathroom is shared but very clean and was never a problem using). Bed was comfortable and linens were clean. The hotel is right in between Ponte Vecchio and the the train station and Florence is easily accessible from here. The hosts are wonderful and willing to help in any way!

This was a fabulous find
The owners were very nice and helpfull , a great hotel right in the heart of the city. The room was clean. I would definitely stay at Hotel Cestelli again.

The best place to stay in Florence on a Budget
Out of all the places I stayed on my Euro trip, Hotel Cestelli was by far my favourite. While the rooms are basic in their amenities (especially if you book the shared bathroom option), they are more than worth their great price, and have plenty of character. The room was quiet, clean, and had a classic European flair that my travelling companion and I simply loved. The best part about Hotel Cestelli wasn't the room though, but rather its hosts Alessio and Asumi. Not only were they very kind in allowing a late check in and holding our bags on our checkout day, but they were simply kind and helpful people. Alessio in particular has a clear love for his city, and literally took out a map and recommended not only the best sights, but also amazing restaurants that most tourists would usually never find. If you're travelling to Florence on a budget, do yourself a favour and book with Hotel Cestelli.

Great Central Location
Great central location. Short walk from main train station. A bit tricky to find at first, has a small plaque outside. Pros: the staff is super friendly and helpful, very clean rooms, comfortable beds, provided kettle upon request, nice safe/quiet location. Cons: only one shared bathroom for a whole floor of rooms, lots of incense being burned throughout entire hotel/house, the wifi can be really slow and spotty (one evening cut out completely probably due to too many people using it). However, overall I would recommend if you are looking for a basic, no frills stay that is centrally located.

Very authentic Centrally located and next to the river , Near expensive shops but also some fantastic and well budgeted restaurants nearby. We head a lovely stay here. The owners were very attentive and friendly. Beds were made and room cleaned daily. The room only had one plug socket but an extension cable was provided. Our room was very large and kept clean and warm (as we went in a very cold spell) . It is an authentic and old hotel. The beds were comfortable and firm,blankets not duvets are used and were very warm.

It is an 8 room boutique hotel in a very central location. Like many others in central Florence, the building is very historical. You feel the Italian heritage with a little tweak-One of the owners is Japanese and there are lovely Japanese elements. The service quality is excellent. They treat you like you treat your guest at home - Special thanks to Assumi! The shared bathroom may be a challenge for a longer trip but we did not experience any issue for our short stay. We stayed just 1 night in this charming and authentic Italian hotel right in the middle of the Centro Storico and loved every moment of our stay, from Alessio's warm smile of greeting to the origami birds. We chose a room with shared bathroom, which worked out fine and gave us access to a "proper sized" bathroom, rather than an small en-suite. There was a basin in the room. The room itself was fabulous - well appointed, beautifully and appropriately decorated and one of the most comfortable beds (apart from my own) that I have slept in in a long time. If you don't want the glitz and glam of multiple stars, mini bar, satellite tv, air-con (which, to me, would seem incongruous given the age and setting of the building) then this hotel is a must.

There is no air conditioning, not really hot water, only warm after you let it run a good while, only one toilet and shower for all guests on floor, often waiting, faulty keys, difficult to open, no breakfast, no coffee tea making facilities, disappointed overall with hotel

The service and cleanliness of this hotel are excellent, and the location of the hotel is in the city centre. And for the comfort of your room, I would say that would be a fair deal; you get what you pay for.
