An area that mingles all of the tranquility of nature with the excitement of a big city, Vancouver is a destination that appeals to just about every type of tourist.
The diversity of this location means that you can spend a day immersing yourself in the native flora of Cypress Provincial Park or take a whale watching tour that departs from Steveston village, then return to the city to take in some culture at the Vancouver Museum or see a game of hockey at Rogers Arena.
Cheap flights to Vancouver are usually easy to find, as tourists from around the world gather here year round.
The months of June through September are warm, but breezy. These months are popular with tourists, as the excellent climate makes a stroll across the Seawall, a nap in the sun at Kitsilano Beach, or a morning spent exploring the Vandusen Botanical Garden a real treat.
As most tourists prefer to avoid the rain and humidity, inexpensive flights to Vancouver are easy to find from January to May. If you do not mind the occasional walk through the rain, this is a good time to socialise with the locals at the Cambie pub or the Celluloid Social Club.
These months also boast numerous events, such as the Chinese New Year Festival in late January and early February, the Celtic Cultural Celebration in March, the Vancouver Sun Run in April, and the Vancouver International Children's Festival in May.
Vancouver's off-season begins in October and ends in December. Though flights are less expensive than the peak season, they may be a little pricier than in the shoulder season. This is largely due to an influx of skiers that head to the nearby slopes of Grouse Mountain, Seymour, and Cypress.

If you are staying in a nearby hotel, you may be able to take advantage of complimentary shuttle service. If this option is not available, one of the most economical and convenient methods of ground transport is the Canada Line rail system. If you have a bit more money to spend, you can also take an airport licensed taxi.
