"Hotel had numerous amenities including a full breakfast buffet every morning which was lovely. The staff was very helpful and they also provided complimentary transfers from the train station. We had a wonderful suite with a gorgeous view of Lake Lugano and the mountains. Highly recommend Villa Sassa!"

"The hotel is right on the lake and our room had a lake front balcony that provided stunning views of the lake and the mountains. The pool is a great amenity. The room was spacious and cheery. The staff that greets you is excellent. A shout out to Captain Roberto, who provides private lake tours by boat. My only negative is the restaurant. The dinner menu is very limited and the staff, while well meaning, was incompetent. Of 4 meals we had there, something went wrong with 3 of them, including sending back a steak that was ordered medium rare and was delivered well over done. It was replaced by a steak that was merely seared and uncooked. I should have sent that back as well. In other words, avoid the restaurant."

"The room was clean and spacious. The view was like something out of a movie, amazing! Slightly disappointed to find out the restaurant was pizzas only but the pizza was nice. Breakfast was also a slight let down, not much hot food to offer there than hotdog sausages and eggs. There were no pastries left when we went up"

"The 4-star rating of this hotel is completely misleading. This property is nowhere near 4-star standards and would struggle to qualify as a 2-star hotel. The soundproofing is practically nonexistent. We could hear everything: conversations in the hallway, noise from neighboring rooms, doors opening and closing, and even footsteps from the room above. Rest and sleep were constantly interrupted. The bathroom was by far the worst part of the room. The shower was separated only by a flimsy curtain in an extremely cramped space, causing water to flood the bathroom floor every time it was used. Years of water damage appear to have taken their toll, as the bathroom door frame was visibly deteriorating and falling apart. The faucets and fixtures were old, heavily worn, and covered in built-up grime. Using the bathroom felt unpleasant every single day. What is most frustrating is that these are not minor cosmetic issues. They are basic maintenance and cleanliness problems that directly affect the guest experience. My husband and I spent our entire three-night stay counting down the days until we could leave. Instead of enjoying our vacation, we were constantly reminded of how poor the condition of this hotel was. The 4-star rating sets expectations that this property simply does not meet. We would never stay here again and cannot recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable or quality hotel experience. The only thing more surprising t"

"My whole family is very judgmental when it comes to hotels, its location, cleanness, and service. I can comfortably state that this hotel exceeded our expectations. Location was at a perfect spot. It was almost on the lake with great views and 10 min walk to the town centers. We loved the rooftop restaurant for its fun ambiance, food quality and service. Book without hesitation! Thank you"
