"I wouldn't stay here again. The staff was great and the place was clean but the room was really old and looking extremely depressing. The main problem I had which unfortunately kept me up all night was that the AC couldnt be turned off - it was set at a specific temperature that you couldn't change. The problem with that was that the AC was from another era, it was extremely loud with a humming noise in the backgroud, it kept me up all night. Terrible. Hard to find parking in that area and also does not seem safe at night. In other words, Rideau street is sketchy, loud and busy."

"When we checked in, there was no trolley available to bring our luggage from the garage up to our room on the 4th floor. The receptionist said he would send someone down to help us, but no one came. We are a couple well into our 70s whp paid well over $500 for a one-night stay. For that price, I expect better service. I explained to the receptionist that my husband is injured and I have a disability that prevents me from walking more than 100 metres, but he still didn’t offer us any help. The mattresses are too soft and the duvets are too heavy and hot to use in the summer. We looked for lighter blankets in all the closets, but there were none. I have never stayed in a "luxury" hotel that did not provide extra blankets. I was really looking forward to taking a bath after a long, exhausting day. But although I have three university degrees, I could not figure out how to work the hypermodern fixtures to turn on the water. They simply did not move. The hotel should provide instructions. And disposable showercaps. We took a two-bedroom suite for better sleeping conditions, but the inner bedroom I slept in had no air circulation. It was airless and stuffy, impossible to sleep in. "

"City view room with king bed was excellent: large, clean, quiet, very nice view. We walked to Parliament Hill; it was a very nice walk. One quibble: If you use their below-ground parking lot, having a small car will help. The spaces and turns are tight (I am driving a Camry). I would like to stay there again."
