Michelangelo is a cosy and quiet hotel in the central part of El Calafate, two blocks away from the busy tourist street with bars and restaurants and shops.
The hotel has been in use for a while, you feel it when you open the door of the room, although it did not bother me much. The bathroom, however, needs a makeover. Breakfast was somewhat typical for Argentinian hotels - mostly cakes. Not sure how many European guests stay there, but I prefer more substantial food. There is a restaurant in the premises of the hotel, I had my Christmas dinner there. The food was excellent, the service was unprofessional.
At the reception you can order a lunch box for the next day’s excursion, as well as book airport shuttle. You can also leave your luggage free of charge if you go away from El Calafate for a few days.
