Very warm and friendly owners. Lovely greeting which made us feel very welcome. Great location and lovely views. Very comfortable beds and had a great night's sleep. Great base for exploring Akaroa. Thoroughly recommend

A good base for exploring the Banks Peninsula
Check in very easy and friendly. The room was well prepared and very clean. The essentials were all there. The rooms are a little tired but perfectly acceptable. The information booklet with the room was very helpful. The view from the bedroom and main room windows is superb. Would happily stay there again.

Brilliant stay in a beautiful location
Immediately was made to feel very welcome and the hotel team were incredibly helpful in helping to adjust some plans. The room itself is fantastic, with excellent views on to the seafront. Easy to find, easy to park, beautiful scenery, incredibly helpful host, couldn’t ask for more. Very highly recommended.

The motel seems to be organized for summer not winter, and we've stayed there in summer and enjoyed it. But in winter it is very cold, with inadequate heating and poor light. By modern standards it's not a good experience.

Such a beautiful location to stay. I had a stunning view looking out over the water. The staff were extremely helpful and kind. The apartment was a very good size, clean and very comfortable. The area was quiet and had lovely walks on the doorstep. The only downside is I only had one night here - would highly recommend. Everything was excellent.

The place is ok, however what let’s this down is the fact there is no air conditioning and in 2023 I think this is unacceptable. It was a very hot day/night and had the worst sleep as was so incredibly hot in that room. Even with all the doors and windows open still unbearably hot. Also there’s no fan only a little heater fan which u can use on fan only mode. This fan does NOTHING. If the place had a AIR-con it would have been great but this was a big let down! DON’T book here if it’s going to be hot.

Relaxing stay at Duchauville (Akaroa).
The property was about a 10 min drive to the township of Akaroa. There was a pub that served meals next door as well as a General Store less than a 5 min walk. The owners were very generous in loaning us an electric fry pan which was really useful for our breakfasts during our 5 nights stay. We had previously been to Akaroa and loved the whole area and wanted a relaxing stay which this property provided. All units/rooms have uninterrupted views of the hills and seaside bay of Duchauville which is very peaceful and relaxing to return "home" to. Each morning we walked around the bay which we probably would not have done if we had stayed in the town centre. The couple who operate the facility were always on-site and were very obliging and pleasant to talk to. For the cost of this facility, we believe it represents outstanding value. We would certainly consider returning to this property in the future.

Lovely seaside views. Bedroom quite small and think direction of bed would be better facing the sea view. Also paint and repairs to wall a bit rough which detracts from the unit. Suggest a resand re-stop and paint to give a better impression. These small details are important.

This was a great stay; the staff were extremely nice and there is a great pub next door. The Motel is much nicer than the photos make it look, the room had been recently renovated and had an amazing view across the harbour.

Wonderful views, right on beach
We received a very warm welcome on arrival, our room was spotlessly clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The BBQ provided for guests use was a bonus. The motel does not have WiFi but the pub next door (1 minutes walk away) does.
